First of all this is not a Vietnamese place. The choice of food here are predominantly quasi Cantonese Chinese. Even the Thai dishes are not authentic enough to be called Thai food. I would not call this false advertisement. But buyers aware. Second, the food is good here but the dishes I had is not up to expectation. The barbecue spire ribs are soaking in oil and sugar. The correct way to cook them is to steam in Cantonese restaurant. I had better spare ribs in Ikea on north circular. It is very disappointing. The stir fried chicken is very bad. The chicken meat was soaked in water before they cook it. The result is that the chicken taste like fish. That made me wonder what did they do to the chicken meat. The lamb is a little bit better and the four vegetable dish is good. Peking duck is slightly better than average. Last, this restaurant is all you can eat but not buffet. You order as much as you can eat at a fixed price. They will only serve 8 dishes maximum at the same time. Overall I found better food in take away places. This restaurant is not a good place to go unless you want to stuff yourself with unhealthy food. There are some dishes on the menu is great. But others are disappointing. One thing to tell if the restaurant is good or not is to see any Chinese people there. But the only Chinese people you can see are staff and families. That may tell you something about this place.
Both the food and the service at Saigon were very good. Staff were friendly, attentive and efficient; they made the effort to explain whatever we asked about and our waiter, Raymond, deserves a special mention for his patience and giving us his recommendations and suggestions. We went for the buffet option, which is great value. Although you can only order 8 dishes at a time, service is fast and you can order again countless times. Next time I'm going to starve myself before going. Lesson learned! We stayed for nearly 3 hours on a Friday evening and didn't feel rushed. It was my first visit here and I would go back.
I've been going to Saigon since I was 10. That's 13 years of loyalty. Last night I eagerly returned with all of my family, but left incredibly disappointed. Our main waitress was arrogant beyond belief and had little respect for her diners. The standard of food was also well below par. The evening began with some delicious starters, namely crispy duck. When it came to the main courses, we were told that the kitchen was due to close. Mind you, it was only past 10 when we were informed. So we proceeded to order everything at once - and not gradually as is the way it should be done. Now this is where the quality of food diminished. There were also many dishes that didn't make it to the table. At this point we hurried up under the glares of our waitress and proceeded to leave. It really saddens me to write this review. I absolutely loved Saigon and have had some wonderful memories dining there. But after my last experience - and especially after the way my family and I were treated - I will not be returning.
Great food, personnel service ,Good value for money spent. Always end up here as the goid and service is great.
The food was very basic and tasteless except chicken and cashew nuts dish which had a nice taste. For £16.95 each for 2 people minimum.you are allowed to choose 8 dishes but Even though you pay for them, you are not allowed to take home what you pay for . When we asked if we could take away our left overs, a very rude blond Vietnamese shouted you should not order so many if you can't eat them. Will never go back again 2 people with a put of jasmine tea came to over £44
Don't know where to start. I have been using this place for the last 7 years and it is going down the drain.last few visits the service and food are getting worse. On our last visit starters were cold and have an off taste which we didn't eat, had to wait for about half an hour for our main course and when asked some rude member of staff to be told that we didn't call it still waiting another 15 minutes and nothing when we decided to leave still paid our full bill as we thought it's not worth waiting for ages. We were also served expired cider which they changed reluctantly.Had an upset stomach all night. All in all it used to be a good place but due to new management as they informed us it is not a place to go. Will never use again or recommend to anybody.
This place should be rated SIX stars, the food here is out of this world! every dish is amazing! and the staff are so friendly. I wish i lived nearby because I would be a regular for life.
Dined at Saigon with my wife and two kids and I must say the food was bad, service was bad..I would not recommend this place at all. The food was full of oil, flavourless and the sight of it all was appalling. Too overpriced for the quality of food. It’s a thumbs down and be really cautious if you are considering attending.
One of the best, if not the best Chinese in Hounslow. Staff not very friendly... There is a guy there who is very nice and polite, but the girl is always grumpy.... The Sunday buffet is lovely, make sure you call and get there early!
Very good restaurant but slightly on the pricy side hence 4 stars. Very good variety of dishes and it’s ALL YOU CAN EAT! :
