We popped into Frome on our way home after a great stay in Porlock. Went into the Sagebury for a toasted sandwich and panini. I wish we hadn’t bothered. We waited 1/2 hour for 1/2 a cup of coffee, 2 toasties not toasted, but the tea was ok. £19.80. When I paid the bill I said they may think of getting a New toaster with a reply of a rude, “I’ll pass that on” the worse I’ve ever had and the worst service.
Found pauls deli and cafe years ago when needed somewhere quiet 2 relax and read been going there ever since great food most freshly cooked when ordered will change anything dont like or cant eat caters 4 all diets and tastes even if all you fancy is a beer or glass of winex
I found this place when I was in Frome at the turn of the year, before lockdown took place. It a lovely 'olde worlde' sort of place; very traditional. It is in a charming side street with a gulley running through the pavement. They had a good selection of bakes and cheeses and other goods. I had a sit down meal which was tasty and reasonably priced. Service was polite and timely. I bought some delicious Stilton on the way out as a treat. I don't get to Frome very often, especially in these difficult times, but I'll pop back again sometime for sure. This place is one of Frome's better-kept secrets.
My husband visited yesterday he was looking for some nice cheese for a gift .. Service he received made me speechless, when he explained what he is looking for the gentleman who was “serving” him asked if he “can afforded it”.. ? The money and affordability were mentioned couple of times during the transaction. I’m not being funny here but that is pretty bad customer service, isn’t it? Massive disappointment as the product selection is good.
Great selection of the rarer cook's ingredients at an okay price and a nicely curated choice of local and foreign beers for those who want to sit outside and drink in the sun. Owner Paul is friendly, and a great source of info about British and local food producers; it's worth asking him if you're looking for something in particular.
This store has an amazing selection of cheeses, bakes and meats, as well as hard-to-find artisan items. It has a relaxed, traditional feel, and welcoming customer service.
Great service from Paul at Sagebury during lockdown. Went the extra mile and hand delivered special birthday chocolates to my aunt in Frome for her 100th birthday. You can’t get better service than that!
Haven't been there some time. Has a good selection of "luxury" goods. Nice location in Cheap Street with space for tables outside.
Gorgeous food, service and atmosphere. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu!
Prices ridiculous for very ordinary soup and ready sliced bread.
