Great old fashioned pub. Friendly owner and staff. So cosy and sensible prices.Service: 5/5
Arrived a little early for opening, but the door was open and the welcome was honest and warm from the barman. Friendly pub where the locals chat to visitors which is lovely. Traditional pub with traditional values ...loved it. Do visit if you have not been.
A proper pub. No food or music, just good draught beer.Service: 5/5
Quirky old school pub, great prices, staff friendly and well behaved dogs welcomeService: 5/5
Great little country pub, lots of nice ales to chose from, love its traditional rustic feel, and very welcoming to non-locals
Great little pub and staff, but, there is an older lady who snapped at my entire family because my kids where enjoying the fireplace and being children, they where not running around or even being noisy, she said the guys upstairs will go mad if they hear kids, I will never be returning, I’ve been in the hospitality industry for many years and will never treat any of my patrons in this way, new or old. I get it, old mans pub, no food, not kids friendly, shame as it has a lot of character but to shout at other people’s children’s in public is a massive no for me and will be spending my family time else where in the village. Crying shame to even give it one star. Update on reply, if your regulars are saying this then surly they must be following you as an owner, do t blame your locals on your decisions and lack of responsibility on your behalf you coward.
Good beer.proper price
A little gem in the heart of Lyme. It had a surprising history and all is not what it seems. In winter it is perfectly cosy with open fires and a relaxing vibe. The cask ales are perfectly conditioned and served and all at £3. Lovely locals enjoying great service in a fabulous community local.
