My son and I absolutely love it here and have been going for years. We visited for the Christmas experience with friends and it was absolutely magical. There was so much to do for the price, the staff were so friendly as always and the kids loved seeing Santa of course! We will definitely be back for the Christmas experience again. Inside was beautifully decorated, the kids were able to write letters to Santa, have a Christmas story, toast marshmallows, have photos on Santa's sleigh and spend as long as they wanted going round the farm too! In the summer, the natural stream area is lovely for the kids to play in and the dog! The fact that it is dog friendly is a huge plus. We love the mill and the animals, and the park area is absolutely massive. We love having this on our doorstep!
We visited for an astronomy night recently. Plenty of parking. Prompt check in on arrival despite it being very busy. We visited the planetarium which was set up in the play barn. The play barn was shut off but looks excellent, as did the outside play area we seen. We had food in the cafe which was reasonably priced and good quality. The staff were all really lovely and helpful. There is a nice little gift shop on site with a great variety of things to buy. It is quite a distance for us to travel but we are planning to do a day trip there in the spring to look around the farm as there is more than enough to make the trip worth it.
Pleasant place to visit with small children, though there was less to entertain older ones. The indoor play barn was fine, but the outdoor play area looked newer and better equipped. Overall we felt the price was fair, though there are some additional costs if you want to do activities or use some of the equipment digger in ball pit, go karts.
In the last two years we've visited a few times. It is absolutely amazing. You can see the animals are well cared for. The workshop workers are very friendly and passionate about their trade. There is also a soft play that is clean and well maintained and an amazing play park. They also have a café and shop, however you can bring your own food as there are many eating areas. We are actually considering getting the yearly pass as there's so much to do that you will want to come back.
Took my children here for the day, and we all had a great time. Plenty to do, nice place to walk around and see the animals and take in the surrounding countryside. Good play area's both indoors and outdoors. Plenty of parking. Well worth a visit.Location: 5/5
Good location off main roads. Long drive which is a bit narrow. Very nice visitor center. Limited play area for u11's outside. Limited animals to see. Easy walk around the land and around the mill pond. Old Mill accessible. Larger indoor play barn didnt see. Food & drinks: Small cafe.
Great for little kids - probably up to 10 years old or perhaps slightly more. Great outdoor play area. Indoor play barn good if the weather is inclement but for 5 years and up really.
A great farm close to Peterborough that has a good mix of animals that you would expect to see and loads of different places for kids to play with a big indoor and outdoor play area. The cafe also serves good quality, reasonably priced food which is always a plus at a location like this. Would definitely recommend for a family visit if you are close by.
Fantastic place for children, lovely grounds to walk around and great staff as well, the only downside is the food, it's pricy and to be honest Gregg's puts it to shame. Would definitely recommend it if you have kids, it will be our stop of point from now on, just need to pack your own food unfortunately.
We took 7 kids for our daughter's 10th birthday. The Manager of the cafe - Karen, had been really helpful on the phone during the week, and reserved us a table for 9. We all enjoyed the food, paninis, pizza, sausage, egg and chips were great. Not sure about the negative comments on here, we had a good experience. They also kept it reserved so we could come back and have birthday cake as the kids were too full after their lunch - Thanks Karen! It was 29 degrees outside, so nice and cool in the cafe in comparison. Sacrewell is a great place, with lots to occupy the kids they had a fab time - my only criticism and reason for not 5 stars, was the lack of animals! We used to come here all the time before a period overseas, and there are much less animals than there used to be. I get they are a heritage centre too, but kids will always love seeing farm animals.
