"Rutherglen Library is located on Rutherglen Main Street adjacent to the Town Hall.It is a large library offering an extensive selection of adult fiction and non-fiction books, photocopying facilities, a collection of standard reference books, and a children's library featuring a programme of organised events.The library has an active IT learning centre with 4 Chromeboxes and 10 PCs with Office applications, and scanning facilities. Active IT also offers free internet access and WiFi for library members. The library has a self-contained IT training suite with 12 PC's which can be booked for group use."

Lovely place. Great selection of books and can easily order others in from different libraries. You can do this yourself online as well. When I first signed up, the lady I dealt with was fantastic. Extremely helpful and friendly done everything she could to go over and above. I'm sorry I missed her name. Since going a few times she has also spoken with me about my interests with the books I have been taking out she is an absolute gem of a person and the next time I am in I will find out her name and add it here :

Rutherglen public library, one-way system in place for covid and cleaner busy sterilising surfaces.  Staff are helpful and friendly as usual.  Good selection of books and other media. The Information Technology suite is well equipped for many uses.
A lovely library with a vast array of books in many different genres. the staff are helpful and easy to talk to.
Fabulous facility, wee community frequent library and they are so interesting and friendly, get a laugh too.Lots of activities for adults and kids, so different from the 50's when I first used this library....quiet please, shhhh..... not any more, thank goodness. Library is special because the staff are great, Julie and her team go out of their way to help you, whether it is ordering books or explaining the various sessions.they go that extra mile. Well worth a visit, atmosphere, welcome, facilities all first class. UPDATE March 14th 2018 You know this library gets better and better...the Manager Julie is terrific and supports Poetry Readings/ Groups, Fledgling Writer Group, Burns Afternoon and that is just a few initiatives the staff have supported recently, I love the way they are open to new ideas and just think they are really 'special' so than you all for everything you do for your Users.

Staff was extremely kind, friendly and helpful. Library building is very beautiful, even fashionable, so Victorian and attractive. Inner premises are also very spacious, very high ceilings etc. If you have Glasgow Libraries membership card, it doesn't work at Rutherglen Library because there is another county - South Lanarkshire, but you can register new form and become a member of all South Lanarkshire Libraries. Wi-fi is free, free computer for 2 hours in Glasgow - 1 hour, printing: simple printing - £0.20 per 1 A4 leaf and £0.70 per one colourful A4. And undoubtedly - plenty of fine books!
Fantastic community resource,relaxed and warm atmosphere, staff terrific and events like Matt McGinn and Burns events were amazing. Heritage Centre much used and so interesting.
Very organised. Felt very safe Staff were lovely. So glad library is back open and a big thank you to the staff
