Whilst away on business I stopped for lunch at the Russell Arms. Really lovely staff, attentive and still following covid guidelines which was nice to see. The pub is really well presented and very clean. The lunch menu has a great choice for all. I tried the chicken pasta. It was superb! There is a great choice of ales too. Nice to see a lovely pub still trading post- lockdown when so many have now been forced to close their doors permanently. Keep up the good work!
Lovely food. Really genuine and friendly staff. Gorgeous decor. Definitely going to return
Fantastic Sunday Roast. Beautifully cooked Rib of Beef, 3 generous slices. Crispy roast potatoes, seasonal veg and cauliflower cheese, all perfectly excecuted and seasoned. Plenty of rich, glossy gravy. Prompt and friendly service. Best roast I have had for a long time.
First visit to the Russell Arms with friends for a pre-Christmas meal. The warmest of welcomes from our host and made to feel like we were lifelong regulars. The menu was simple and short, which led to a lovely pick and mix of starters between the four of us. The cauliflower and squid were excellent. I have the wild venison steak for main, which was beautiful. Tender flavoursome and cooked to perfection. Service throughout the evening was first class. Great value for money meal that we all enjoyed and unanimously left saying we must come back very soon. Thank you.
We had eaten Sunday lunch here before and really enjoyed it so were looking forward to it again. Unfortunately, the food was cold as it was served on cold plates and we were sat in the bar next to a couple where the lady had taken full advantage of happy hour and was rather loud. We had booked to sit in the restaurant...
Very good food. Unfortunately, the service lets it down. It was slow and not especially friendly. Waited ten minutes for a replacement coffee that takes 30 seconds at most, although best avoided as from an automatic machine. It doesn’t take much to make people feel welcome but seems hard to find these days.
Staff lovely, ambience perfect..a little chilly. But the food very poor, basic main course over priced ..not sure if cooked from the freezer .cod and french fries and our puddings were a disaster.. the worst crumble we have ever tasted. Sad as the food had been good on previous visits hence our return.
First visit. Enjoyable and well presented roast. The Yorkshires were big enough for 2/3 people. Sadly no Pink Gin was available, very surprising.
Came with a group of friends, they had most of our food orders wrong and the waitress got upset with us not accepting the food we never ordered. It took over 2h to have our full correct order. The waitress blamed us for being a big group and never apologised. The food wasn't great and of small size for the money we paid for. I do not recommend the place if you want to have a nice time with your friends.
In a quiet country location with helpful.stsff. Menu limited, but what they do produce is very good. A nice feel to thus community owned pub and restaurant.
