Very friendly service. Great knowledge of running shoes, and assessment of individual foot positioning. Great selection too, and came away with some awesome new trainers, fit is perfect. Feels good to support an independent store! I will go back in the future.
Went to buy a new pair of trainers yesterday for my Marathon training. They were really helpful and found me the perfect pair. Had a great run in them today. Recommend this shop. Great service and knowledge. Thank you.
David was brilliant. I was in dire straits, needing a new pair of shoes for the Brighton Marathon the next day, having messed up one of my feet with a badly advised purchase from elsewhere. He diagnosed my problem, took his time to find me a pair of shoes that felt just right, and gave advice on painkillers and ice-packs. I got round in the new pair in less than 5 hours the next day in not too much pain. Great, knowledgeable, understated service.
Have had extremely good advice and purchases from this shop for 12 years. Recently had very poor fitting advice big toe poking through mesh and have been refused refund, despite returning shoe within two days unworn. Not all staff have the same fitting expertise or customer service skills. Only one star as zero not an option.
I purchased my first ever pair of running shoes in 2003 the year I started running. 15 years later and not only am I still running taking part in 5k’s, 10k’s, half marathons, marathons and a 100km UltraMarathon but I am still purchasing my running shoes from the same shop. The service and advice that I have received has always been exceptional so I see no reason to shop anywhere else. I highly recommend this shop. I plan to remain a customer for the long run .
Perfect example of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I went to the shop today with the view of purchasing a new pair of running shoes with more support. I purposely wore my current trainers so that I could show exactly what support I had and perhaps could find trainers which offered more. I was greeted by a very unprofessional and down right rude guy working there, who when I merely mentioned that I had a niggle in my ankle hence I was looking to change my current trainers immediately responded by saying that 'you should go to a physio then'. He made repeated reference to my existing trainers and kept insisting they were not running trainers at all which was untrue then when he couldn't push that anymore he moved on to 'I would NOT stock those in my shop'. I told him that I did actually find my trainers very comfortable to which he responded with 'my slippers are comfortable too'. He was totally reluctant to offer me any trainers at all which would be suitable. He was extremely aggressive and unhelpful. I would certainly not step foot in this shop if I were you! I mananged to buy the perfect pair from the running shop in Sevenoaks! Go to 'Up and Running' in Sevenoaks instead!
I ordered a specific pair of Saucony running shoes 6 weeks before the Brighton Marathon and was told they would take about a week. When I hadn't heard anything after 2 weeks, I rang and was told they would chase the manufacturer. After another week of silence, I rang again and was told they would chase the manufacturer again. Now, 10 days before the race, I am told that they have been discontinued and can't be supplied. Apparently Saucony kept assuring the shop that they were on their way. Wherever the fault lies, it would have been nice to be kept better informed.
I'm an experienced runner and triathlete currently training for an Ironman, so I've got quite high expectations from running shops. The Runner's Shop met them with an excellent selection of shoes, knowledgable and patient staff I tried on 5 different pairs and ran in each briefly outside the shop and good value. Highly recommended.
Friendly, helpful, reasonable stock. They're a real world running shop, which means you can actually try things on. My favourite aspect of the shop was that let you take shoes for a spin around the block, which is far better for forming a sensible opinion than just using a treadmill. On the downside, the prices seem high. I had to point out that the asking price on the shoes that I was buying worked out as even higher than buying them retail direct from the manufacturer. To their credit, when I pulled them up on this, they negotiated a more sensible price without any rudeness. However, it's best to go in there with your wits abut you, perhaps. Given that this is a small independent bricks and mortar shop, it's worth being a little forgiving with them though, and certainly worth paying a little over internet box-shifter prices for personal service and the chance to see before you buy. Local shops like this would be much-missed if they died out!
Really pleased with the advice I received today about which trainers would be best for my needs. I felt under no pressure to buy. I tried on lots of pairs and all my questions were answered. So pleased I came away with 2 pairs. Great customer service will definitely be returning when I need to. Thank you
