It's been a while since I've added a review, and this one is not to be missed. The vegetarian and I had ventured over to Wendover. A small village we had walked around in the Summer months on a Spy trail . We wanted a mid morning hot drink and perhaps a naughty snack and we happened upon Rumsey's. On entering, fully masked up of course, we were greeted with a counter full of chocolate goodness. There are 3 tables downstairs and 5 upstairs, which you get to via a steep set of stairs not suitable for those not able bodied. The toilets are downstairs. There are also 3 large tables outside, weather permitting. We settled in and were handed our menus so started perusing. The options were pretty wide, from pastries to cake and chocolate fondue. I went for a pot of tea, pain at raisin and I just had to have the cinnamon dusted churros with choice of milk, dark or white liquid chocolate. The vegetarian had a cinnamon Danish and a Hot Chocolate with a shot of Bailey's. I am told it is delicious. If I had one question mark I thought the hot chocolate could've been a bigger serving for the price. All in all though, we'll worth a visit. A final word on the staff. All were excellent.
Great coffee/tea and cake. Visited with my wife for afternoon refreshments. Has seating inside upstairs and downstairs and outside. Lovely selection of cakes. I had chocolate torte very rich with cream. My wife had raspberry and hazelnut meringue, also with cream. Both very delicious. Both the decaffeinated coffee and tea were great.
Nice chocolaterie in wendover high street. Tables inside and outside. Great variety of chocolate's handmade just inside, you can even see them being made. Very clean and tidy. Good atmosphere nice staff.
Waited 20 minutes to be served. It wasn’t a particularly busy time of day. When the drinks arrived, Cappuccino and flat white warm, not hot. Didn’t complain. Chocolate brownie delicious. Staff very friendly. I’ll give it another try to see if they can make up for it. At those prices you’d expect them to up their game a little. It’s a shame really. As I do want to support local businesses.
Waww was a nice experience and absolutely lovely service, and the coffee, ice cream, chocolate, and cake were absolutely outstanding . Probably only because it is a lovely place, it is so busy, and it is so, so hard to find a space for dining in ather then that was a lovely experience.
The chocolate is very good the chocolate truffle torte possibly even better. Kids enjoyed cookie dough milk shake and apple juice, but felt slightly rushed as we were approaching 5pm, but not far from finishing.
It's our favourite cafe! Miss sitting in the cozy cafe though due to pandemic. We always go there to have our favourite Mocha and Banana-Chocolate Bread! They do awesome chocolate variety. Images with this review were taken during one the visits before the pandemic!
Very friendly staff with very quick service. Children's hot chocolate went down very well. Only downside is no baby change facility in the toilets.
Always delicious coffee and hot chocolate. The chocolates are very good and quite large. Loyalty card available. Can never resist.
Loved this bustling little combination chocolate shop/pastry shop/tea shop. The service was friendly, the food was fabulous and I can't wait to visit again so I can try the chocolate fondue that I photographed on its way to another table. There are cases of gorgeous chocolates, special cakes and random treats such as a chocolate swiss army knife and lollipops at the till. They serve freshly made waffles in two styles dessert and breakfast, and their chocolate can be ordered in the old-fashioned thicker, rich house recipe.
