The car park is small but I’ve never seen more than a couple of cars parked there. This is a beautiful place to stretch your legs, breathe in the fresh air and enjoy the birds. There are no seats or benches along the walk so if you need to take the weight off your legs keep that in mind. The track is mainly gravel with lots of potholes, if using a wheelchair or mobility scooter it won’t be the easiest of tracks to navigate although it can be done. If taking your little one in a buggy make sure it’s a robust one. If you want to identify the birds along the walk, it would be best to take some binoculars. This is also an important site for breeding Black-tailed Godwits.
A nice and remote nature park. I visited during flooding so there were a lot of birds to look at. Some red kites were in the area.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Relatively small car park with only around 20 spaces. Parking is right next to the reserve, with a linear path heading both right and left. We visited specifically to see the owls which is what the site is known for. It didn't disappoint, we saw short-ear, long-ear as well as a tawny owl. It wasn't all that busy either. Local dog walkers were friendly and a few stopped for a chat.
Superb, out of the way location. Lots to-see and plenty of parking. Shame dog walkers allow their dogs to run free and off the lead when there is livestock around, despite signage everywhere wanring them not to.Visited onWeekday
First time visiting this place, with no facilities but well worth going. If you're into bird watching, you won't be disappointed. We were lucky enough to see a tawny owl, three long eared owls, a short eared owl, and a barn owl.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
No facility reserve with plenty of space to walk. Chances of good birds such as Cranes and Owls.Visited onWeekdayWait time1 hr+Reservation recommendedNo
At the end of a single track lane, a peaceful area to sit and twitch! Good size area to park, ample pathways walk and if course plenty of wildlife to watch.
Lucky enough to see 2 long eared owls and a tawny owl. All were roosting. The long eared owl was a lifer for me, so that made the visit much more special. Lots of birds on the water, plus reed bunting and stonechat.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo wait
An astonishing variety of wildlife and rare birds from a very simple viewpoint. Carpark for 20 odd cars, extremely busy late afternoon. Don't stand on the bank, you'll get told off
Beautiful place managed to see 3 species of owl. Shame there are no hides here or any kind of toilets.
