Booked taxis for 24th and 25th Jan and paid in advance via the payment link. Both cars got cancelled the night before and I am still waiting for my refund - 3rd week and still nothing. Keep ringing and not getting anywhere.
A truly awful service, stick to Uber! I usually book a Uber but wanted to try Royal as I needed a taxi that would arrive on time. I allowed for plenty of time for my trip but the taxi arrived 5 minutes late meaning I missed my train by a minute usually a 7 mins journey but I allowed 15 mins. The driver did not apologise, which made matters worse. When I arrived at my destination, I asked to pay with card but as I hadn’t requested this when I booked the taxi, I had to make a bank transfer. When in a rush, this is far from ideal!
DON’T USE THIS FIRM My husband has terminal cancer and Royal Carz were my go to at short notice when, on occasion, I was called to the various hospitals he was an inpatient of. Just before Christmas, I called Royal Carz as I was carrying heavy shopping and had to get back to my husband. When the driver arrived I asked him if he had a card reader as I had no cash on me, he said no but he could stop at a cash machine located at Tesco metro FYI - a very small branch at the end of my road. I tipped him, generously, at the end of the journey and never thought any more of it again until some weeks later I called Royal carz again, the “man” at the end of the phone said to me “are you the one who made my driver go to a shopping centre and wait while you got cash out?”, taken aback by the verbal attack I said yes though it was not how it was, he then went on lecturing me on carrying cash. It is safe to say I will never use them again. If it wasn’t for the fact I was needing the taxi urgently I would have told him to stick it. Suffice to say, they have lost my business to Uber. I think it should be mandatory for taxis to carry card reading machine this day and age.
Absolutely rubbish service! STAY AWAY!!! Booked a taxi for Saturday on the Wednesday before. Called on Friday to confirm the price and timing. On the day they call me up 3 hours prior to pick up saying they have increased the price. When I told them I had called and confirmed they had said a “trainee” had taken my booking and is no longer working for them. The guy on the phone was extremely rude and demanding.They had cancelled my booking and I had to call up another taxi company. Will not be using them again! I do not recommend this taxi company to anyone. If I could give 0 stars I would but unfortunately I cannot post a review without giving a rating of 1 star!
A very good service. It was nice to speak to a person and not have to download an app. The drivers two journeys were courteous and efficient. That’s all you want from a taxi. Recommended.
I do not recommend in any case. I waited an hour for the taxi and it didn't come at all. I tried to call 10 times and no one answered the phone. Zero professionalism and respect for the client. I do not recommend.
Worst taxi company I have ever experienced, 1 hour late to collect myself and my daughter from the station. After 9 phone calls, the driver telling me 3 different car parks he was in, he finally arrived and tried to say he was there all along before being caught out on his lies. He then drove like an absolute idiot at 95mph making my daughter very nervous. Needless to say I made other arrangements when travelling home. Absolute joke they were
The reason for posting my review was to share my experience with you all about this company who, has not only made me late for meetings but also work on numerous occasions. What makes things worse was when booking 24hrs prior even explaining that I have train to catch the have stil been late arriving 15-20 past the booked time. Then when challenged about the incompetence there's a big debate between driver and controller to take responsibility for this poor service. Clearly NOT acceptable. My advice would be to avoid these unprofessional time wasters and use a more reliable taxi firm. Wouldn't let me post without marking 1 star that they do NOT deserve. Very Poor service.
Don't usually bother posting reviews but just wanted to say that the negative reviews don't reflect my experience at all. I have used Royal cars to get to and from Heathrow for a number of years now. Service is always good and reliable - never missed a flight or been stranded at the airport! Price is fair. All good.
Do not use #royaltaxis they've made me wait half an hour for a taxi that was meant to be on its way, called to complain then called a liar and shouted at by the guy who is taking the calls. Standing like a lemon 5 months pregnant waiting and then told a taxi came and I wants there! The taxi driver himself didn't even have the job booked until 5 minutes before he came to get me. Then the taxi driver didn't even know where he was going, honestly the worst company I've used. Used them for business purpose to support a disabled person with their food shopping. Absolutely shocking service and very rude on the phone shouting at a customer!
