Another great meal out at the Royal Tandoori in Whyteleafe. The restaurant always seems very busy and always does great food. Had various starters and mains over the past year and never had a bad dish. If you are not sure what you want just ask them to recommend something like I did with the garlic lamb which they then also made a bit warmer.
Dining in was a nice experience, lovely staff and restaurant was clean and has a modern look. Food was lovely however expected better from the food due to the price… The food was very pricey in comparison to other curry houses in the area, which was a down sider but still a nice dining experience
Great little local restaurant with lovely atmosphere. 3 of us dined and started with some drinks and poppadoms. They came swiftly and the restaurant wasn't too busy which meant it was pleasant to chat and relax. We eventually ordered mains, I must admit we were waiting for some time and asked to order. I think you have to finish your poppadoms before you can order mains because we weren't allowed to keep them while we waited for our mains. Now the restaurant wasn't busy as I mentioned but for some reason our drinks and mains took ages, and even then we didn't get our naans for another 10 mins or so.....we had finished our mains when we asked about our drinks, eventually they came just a bottle of coke and a lemonade but couldn't help thinking we were waiting a lot. Food was not bad. They didn't mind that I ordered tandoori chicken with my curry and we're happy to offer some rice suggestions mushroom rice. Personally one portion of rice could easily be shared between two. The bhajis were good and the naans fluffy. I ordered butter chicken, which varies a lot from place to place and it was flavoursome and not spicy, which I like. My friend had a vegetable curry and I think it was a balti....both enjoyed their meal very much. One friend often visits here and has had much more experience than my one time visit and he loves the place!! It was reasonably priced for the three of us at around £40 no booze a head but honestly I'd expect all round better service for that price. Oh by the way if you are driving there's a car park just a bit further up the road that's free in the evening and less than a min walk away. Please do try this place but personally I prefer Chat House Tandoori, all round more to my liking.
Away for the night at the Travelodge in Whyteleafe and just up the road is Royal Tandoori, good reviews on here so I decided give it a try, the place is nicely decorated and spacious, parking nearby and friendly staff, the food was delicious, Chicken Shashlik for Mains with Garlic Nann and Mushroom Rice which are really good size for a single person, slightly higher in price than most places I visit but still value for money, definitely return if I'm down this way again..
Good food and great service, nice choice on the menu.Food: 5/5
tasty meal in the main on our last visit but the chicken was very tough and stringy. Papadums were a bit soft. Everything else sauce , rice , side dish was very good .
Order arrived on time, piping hot and beautifuly prepared. Curries were amazing. Full of lovely natural colour and flavours. The onion bhaji and poppadoms were both excellent. We have eaten from.most in the local area over the last year and I'm pleased to say ....... all in all the best indian takeaway we've had this year 100%
We often order takeaways from here, and everything always tastes fresh and flavoursome. It's more expensive than many of the other indian restaurants in the area but I believe it's worth it for the quality of food. I really enjoyed the xacuti chicken last time, and my husband loved the king prawn rogan josh. My children loved the naan bread, lovely and soft whilst the paratha is my favourite, lovely and flakey. The saag paneer is a bit different to how we've had it in other places but, nevertheless, still thoroughly enjoyable. I'm writing this review and really want an Indian takeaway now!
Just cooked to perfection. Went here last night and asked for ďaubergines as a side without much oil. Dish arrived with no oil, just the tomato juices. Perfect. Parking: Parking can be made close by in a car park. Very easy for access to restaurant.
Fantastic as always. Brilliant service and Fabulous food couldn't recommend highly enough! Kid-friendliness: Both our boys treated well and both enjoyed the banquet
