lovely place for lunch. very very busy, good atmosphere and family friendly also dog friendly with a menu dedicated to dogs which i thought was cute! i had the lasagne which was really nice as was the salad the food tasted fresh and well cooked. we wanted to know / ask how the chips were made as they were bloody brilliant! never had chips like that before... ha! also the peppered steak sandwich drinks were nice too friendly staff clean and well ran
A very nice stay for 2 nights in a Deluxe room at this 3* hotel. Plenty of space. Bathroom was OK but not deluxe. Bed was a lovely sleigh bed, although mattress was a bit sift/springy for our personal taste. Everything was clean. Service all round was excellent. Will be a great venue when the sun shines with the river right outside across the road. :
Had a lovely 2 night stay this weekend, the room was really nice and clean. We ate at the hotel all food was lovely even the cooked breakfast which were all hot. We used the sister hotel to have a swim and sauna, steam room too. We would definitely recommend here and we will be back to visit.Rooms: 5/5
It may be a 3 star hotel but you get a 5 star service from everyone. Highly recommend this hotel. The staff are very kind, polite and very professional. Great food, especially the afternoon tea! Very difficult to find a better hotel in North Wales. Great part of Wales. Very accessable to so many places. Great for solo, couples and families guests.
I can't comment on rooms but we went to Y Stablau bar for tea and it was lovely. Polite and engaging staff, dog friendly with special dog memu, and fantastic beer and chips! You can sit inside or outside. Excellent selection of food, children's menu. Traditional Welsh beers.Rooms: 5/5
We came to Betws-y-Coed for a few nights away and had the pleasure of eating at Royal Oak on 28th December. We have been talking about our meal ever since - it is by far one of the if not THE best meals we have eaten. The flavours were beyond that of our local Michelin restaurant, and the lamb was cooked to perfection. The waiting staff were lovely, and the cocktails were of equal quality to the food. So, having booked a table for 2 over the phone we where looking forward to our visit. On arrival my booking was no where to be seen. I was asked to show my conformation email. I was never sent an email. I showed the phone number to the person who greeted us. This was not enough, email only. The restaurant quiet, still refused entry. So, because the incompetent person that took my phone call which I proved we where treated so unprofessionally. Minimum wage should not result in minimum training, sad. As part of our 10 year anniversary celebrations The Royal Oak failed to deliver anything but a revolving door. Never again.
We had a family festive 3 course meal after viewing a wedding venue down the road , the Christmas decor and atmosphere was fantastic the staff service was excellent they couldn't do enough for us , all our food was very tasty and hot with decently size portions and value for money. We'll be going back highly recommend.Service: 5/5
I am sometimes generous in my rating. On this occasion it was absolutely deserved. The meal was excellent, cooked to perfection. The waitress couldn't help enough. Really excellentService: 5/5
Two nights during horrible rainy weather in probably the worst room in the hotel overlong the noisy loading dock and ventilation systems 215 The staff here is excellent. Breakfast is very nice and leisurely. Not much to do here in the rain. The room is small and so is the bathroom. Housekeeping did a nice job of servicing our room. Regardless of the rain, we enjoyed our stay and this beautiful old hotel. The lobby is nice and bar service is good. Good beer on tap.
