We had a family get-together here today and had a lovely afternoon. The meals were lovely, the staff were very pleasant and helpful and prices reasonable. The highlight was the upstairs play area for toddlers. Our granddaughter had a couple of hours with various family members climbing around and enjoying the double slide. The outside play area was a hit, too, with the swing being a particular favourite. Thanks to all the staff.
Just returned from a fantastic weekend stay at The Royal Oak pub. The accommodation was fist class. Food was amazing and very reasonably priced with ample portions. The staff were very friendly, helpful and made us feel welcome. I would not hesitate in recommending The Royal Oak and will definitely be returning there at the next opportunity. Thank you so much for a lovely weekend.
Friendly staff, quick service and good homemade food. The chips were excellent, steak was cooked as requested and burgers were tasty. Portions are a good size. Reasonable prices considering everywhere has price increases recently, just over £100 for 8 of us to eat and £31 for our first round which included a bottle of red. We would return.
Very nice pub, lovely decorations for Christmas I think there is a reduced menu over winters as I guess they have less footfall during the winter months. Order is always correct, food is always fresh and warm on arrival. Will be visiting again.
The food here is amazing. We'll seasoned. Friendly staff. Cracking portion sizes. Moderately priced. Looks like we've just found our regular Sunday Carvery. Definately worth a visit.
It's great when a pub serving food is also dog friendly. It was a little awkward finding a suitable seat/table for 4 adults, 2 kids and the dog as the other customers were spread about or couples were sat at larger tables. Meals were OK but a little on the expensive side in my opinion - £16 for steak pie, chips and peas.
Staying nearby at The Bay, we decided to give the Royal Oak a try as it was dog friendly, wasn’t disappointed, no waiting, pick of the available tables, good menu too, good selection but not too much can make it harder to decide, went for the fish and chips, massive portion huge fish turned up in next to no time! Super quick service, food was really good, great home made chips! Very friendly staff! definitely recommend!
Nice family pub with good beer and service. I can't comment on the food or atmosphere because it was a Monday dinner time and empty but can see it would be a good place to go. I do have previous memories of this place as I went there as a kid whilst on holiday with my folks at Primrose valley about 37 years ago.Service: 4/5
Wow!! Just wow!! Portion sizes are amazing & the quality even better.... Wish we'd have found this place sooner..... Defo will be back! Dog friendly tooFood: 5/5
Stopped by for a drink, enjoyed Pool table only 50p and lovely friendly staff. Meals look good although was not there to dine. Food & drinks: Return visit, lovely to have Mout Berries on draft.
