I would just love to thank everyone who was part of my care both before my procedure and after. I have never felt so confident about those looking after me. A special thanks to everyone in the Duke of Gloucester ward. So much kindness and patience with all the patients. Nothing was too much for any of the staff.nAbsolutely wonderful hospital
2025 - my return to the physio department, unlike other hospitals, I saw familiar faces. Receiving treatment by the same staff meant that they knew my case, what works well for me and we could discuss and review my progress from before. I couldn't ask for a more tailored experience.nn2024 - 5 years later! I was fortunate to be accepted on the Pain Rehabilitation Programme again in June 2024 and received exceptional care and support during my admission. The Aspire swimming pool is warm and clean. And with the expert assistance of RNOH physios, I was able to enjoy freedom from my wheelchair for the first time in years. I think my face says it all!nn2019 review - As I wheelchair user I was able to access the pool with dignity. The equipment and specialist assistance available is the second to none.
Absolutely amazing experience for my husband and for us as familynAfter his sarcoma knee surgery done by Mr Lee Bayliss a highly qualified, experience ,professional and emphatic surgeon, all staff was stunning, looked after my husband with so much care ,empathy and respect, well trainned and experienced nurses .nI cannot express my gratitude to all of them enough.nGod bless you all
Visited children’s outpatients today. Registered at the desk and told “your daughter needs an X-ray as she hasn’t had one” even though she was referred to RNOH due to findings on her X-ray?nTold still need to go to X-ray anyway, the hospital every corridor was a hill or had signs saying uneven path, which was really difficult to navigate with a child who is a wheelchair user.nGet to X-ray and the lady on reception I had to give my daughters dob 3 times then eventually her nhs number as they couldn’t find her records. The lady on reception while booking us in sat with a phone to her ear the whole time she was speaking to us too. But it Turns out that had the wrong dob on her notes.nEventually get signed in for X-ray. Go into the room with my daughter in her wheelchair and the person says “ok get her to stand over there”nErm no, she’s a wheelchair user and cannot stand it will have to be done laying down. I was met with confused faces but eventually they agreed to X-ray her laying down.nMy daughter is hypermobile and I had to hold her still, I said her dad is outside he can come and hold the other side and was told no, one carer per child, we will just have to hope the dr doesn’t send you back for another and the image is clear enough.nGet back to childrens unit after having to walk back through uneven corridors and navigate slopes to then find out we had to go back outside and back on ourselves to get back into the childrens unit.nChecked back in and saw one of the doctors who checked our daughter over, we then saw the consultant specialist aswell who were very apologetic regarding the X-ray experience and that is the only reason for the 3 stars. Is because of those two doctors in the childrens unit. He did say he wanted the cray re done in a few weeks time but that it could be agreed in advance for a second person to help keep her in optimal position. Which could have been done today when I suggested it but the X-ray team wouldn’t allow it.nIn a hospital that specialises in orthopaedic and bone issues, I wouldnt have thought the X-ray department would have been the worst we’ve ever encountered.nnAll in all, if it wasn’t for those two doctors including dr marks we came across in the childrens unit, we would have been requesting to transfer her care to another hospital. So thank you dr marks and your colleague for today, you managed to put our faith back in the hospital and hoping for better experiences at our next X-ray there.
I had to have emergency surgery there in July to get a sarcoma cancer cut out of my forearm I spent 2wks there it's a beautiful NHS hospital absolutely spotless you could eat your dinner off the floor, the staff were fantastic, friendly, supportive and caring they couldn't do enough for you at what is a awful time for the patient . The grounds around the the grounds were wonderful there's a lake,a apple tree orchard and they even have their own leisure centre for rehabilitation I thought id gone private and my visitors couldn't believe it was NHS either what a wonderful hospital.
