Having been a guest in the past week, so during the exceptional hot weather, it became immediately obvious that the hotel does not have air conditioning.nTemperatures in some bedroom were in excess of 30c which badly affected the ability to sleep. Fans were provided but in that heat, they merely served to move hot air around the room.nTop marks to the staff - especially the girls on the waiting staff who coped with the heat with amazing patience.
What a fab hotel. We stayed 5 nights and what a good deal it was for the price! The room was clean and had views out to the sea, which was fab especially as there was such a beautiful sunset one night. A comfortable bed, good shower and such lovely fluffy towels, lovely to have a robe available too.nnThe staff were all very helpful and welcoming. Shout out to the room staff - every day they cleaned and made the bed leaving it like new again. Plenty of little milks to last through to the morning cuppa too, which I appreciated.nnDinner on the first night was delicious and so were breakfasts each morning. No long wait for the hot food, it was served promptly.nnWe had tea and cake in the lounge on two afternoons, a large portion of cake which was delicious each time.nnWe appreciated the car parking arrangements and for £5 per day it was certainly worth doing.nnWe would certainly return and would fully recommend this hotel - give it a go!
BEST CHRISTMAS EVERnWe have just come back from the 4 night Christmas package deal. We had a fantastic time away, could not fault it. What a great team all working together to deliver a great Christmas. We have been to the Royal Esplanade on numerous occasions in the past, and they have the same staff.nMike, the owner was there helping and chatting to people, I think that was really nice.nA big thank you to Hannah who sorted my wife's food allergies.nOverall a 11 out of 10nGreat job and we will be back soon.nMany thanks again.nChris and Viv Green
Room was a bit small .nShower room also small. No grip rail in shower.nService ok had to wait a long time between meal courses.nFood was of high quality, v.good.nBar ran out of Carlsberg, major catastrophe!! Quality of lager was excellent, when available.nSteps to get into Hotel ground floor also steps on second floor towards room.
My husband and I come to this Grand Hotel for a couple of nights. It starts our holiday just right. The staff are the most friendly people we have met. It might be a bit shabby in places, but that is in the keeping of the hotel. We come straight of the ferry and walk down the pier cross the road to the hotel. PS keep up the good work, and we will see you in August. Anne and Dave.
