If you're looking for a unique and unforgettable dining experience in Edinburgh, look no further than the Royal Deck Tea Room on the Royal Yacht Britannia. The tea room is located on the former royal yacht of Queen Elizabeth II and offers a stunning setting for a luxurious afternoon tea. The tea room itself is beautifully decorated with elegant furnishings and is set against a backdrop of stunning views of the water. The menu is equally impressive, featuring a range of delicious teas, sandwiches, cakes, and pastries, all served with impeccable attention to detail. What sets the Royal Deck Tea Room apart, however, is the sense of history and tradition that permeates the entire experience. From the grandeur of the yacht itself to the attention to detail in every aspect of the service, you'll feel transported to a bygone era of luxury and sophistication. One of the things I appreciate most about the Royal Deck Tea Room is the friendly and knowledgeable staff. They go above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of your visit is perfect, from the selection of teas to the presentation of the food. Overall, I highly recommend the Royal Deck Tea Room on the Royal Yacht Britannia as a must-visit destination in Edinburgh. The combination of stunning views, delicious food, and rich history make it a truly unforgettable experience that is not to be missed.
A busy place, I hadn't booked. The staff where busy but still friendly, and a small waiting time to be serviced. Luckily I got a table by the window. It was a little stuffy though. The service hot and cold food and drinks. I had the salmon sandwich, with a side order of potatoes wedges. The sandwich was filled with salmon which was good especially for the price. I ordered the banana milkshake, but what I received was banana milk, however it was a nice milk. And for after fruit scone with cream and jam, a nice scone. Not sure I would eat here again due to the high price though, however the food was good.
What a lovely treat! We just had a light tea; Dundee cake and Victoria sponge. It was quiet when we were there; no wait. Friendly staff. We felt welcome to linger but we’re only halfway through our self guided tour so carried on. We really enjoyed our time on the Britannia.
What an experience. I was fortunate to get a table next to a window which was so lucky. After spending an hour or so walking around The Britannia, it was so nice to unwind in the tea room. I ordered a pot of tea and Victoria Sponge Cake. Then I took a couple of photos and sent them back to my grandmother in New Zealand and said to her, ‘I made it life Grandma, I’m having a cup of tea and cake on the Royal Yacht’.
The place is great. We ordered the afternoon tea and it was amazing, and the staff was friendly. No prebooking necessary but it got kinda busy quite fast. I do recommend it.
3 star for the wedged potatos included in the soup&sandwich set. The scone is as bad as those sold in the starbucks.
Had a most excellent scone here. Light and airy setting with great service. Go on!
The manager and waitress very rude with people they should trained them how to serve and talk to customers
Great tour of Britannia yacht. Well worth a visit. And had lovely lunch in the tea room
Took the tour of the Royal Yacht Britannia which was very interesting. We the self guided audio system. I would guess it took about a hour and a half. The Yacht is kept in very good shape. The crew were very helpful.
