Visited here for breakfast and I was not disappointed. The service was welcoming and friendly. English breakfast was great, tasty and well presented. Great coffee too and dog friendly! Lovely balcony to sit at outside, lots of tables and a nice sofa area inside to chill. Really great place! I’ll definitely be back, I wish I knew about this place sooner!
Outstanding location and amazing sea views, probably the best in Broadstairs. Well worth paying extra for superior sea view room. We had a triple aspect sea view see photos and lots of space. Travelled with our dog and this hotel is very dog friendly. Stayed for 3 nights and would definitely return. Outstanding breakfast service from waiter Hermes.
Went into this restaurant yesterday with 2 children. Nobody to shoe you to seat, even though there was a sign to say wait here. Went to a table which hadn't been cleared, then had to flag somebody down to clear it. Underneath, table was covered in seagull poop..Great. had to ask for it to be cleaned again. Anyway, ordered food and was told 25 min wait. An hour later, husband asked..told it was up next. Table who came in next to us half hour later than us received food. I then asked about timings...waiter didn't even come back to tell us situation. Waited another ten mins and again said it was next....countless people then received their food. So, after 4th time having a moan up, we asked for a refund. Awful service. To be fair..other people's food looked nice, just would have been nice to try it. If you are hungry and want something within a reasonable time, I wouldn't go there! Noteworthy details: Nice location.
Comfy sea facing room. Usual tired decoration as experienced in many hotels; chipped paint, mouldy bath sealant, stained carpet, the creakiest floorboards ever. But, the most powerful shower ever. However, overall the room is clean. Room was very warm and a mystery to where the heat was coming from. Friendly and welcoming staff. Good choices for breakfast. Would stay again.
Very pleasant, properly "British" hotel by the seaside, with from our top floor front room a panoramic view of the beach & seafront. Only slight wrinkle for us was that we'd booked online, though! to eat in the hotel on the Friday night, but when we opened the landing door we realised that there was a Country & Western band playing quite loudly in the bar / restaurant area. To be fair, their soundproofing between floors is excellent, especially in such an old building, & it's hard to know how an online restaurant booking function could have warned us, and, not knowing the venue, it didn't occur to us to ask. They were absolutely happy to cancel our booking with us & reception both struggling to make ourselves heard with two minutes notice & we went out & found Little Sicily, which is an excellent place & highly recommended. I short, we'd be very happy to stay here again.
Very comfortable one night stay! Our room was ready early so we were allowed to check in early. Hotel is in a great position looking out to sea. Great value as well! Street facing Triple room was warm and very comfortable. Plenty of tea/coffee etc provided. Cooked Breakfast was lovely numerous options with plenty of cold buffet options as well. Staff were really friendly, helpful and courteous. One thing to bear in mind is there is no lift. So specify a lower floor if stairs are an issue. Lovely stay overall!
Decent enough Sunday roast and majority of staff completely friendly with exception of one jobsworth who barked at us to keep dog out of walkway despite fact it’s here we were seated by staff and where water bowl for dogs was placed - again by staff.Service: 3/5
The furniture looks like a seaside cafe some tables in the bar are reserved for dining but you can eat anywhere you like so defeats the object as they have a separate room they could use for this purpose. We had to leave as all we had was barking dogs everywhere and couldn't here ourselves speak to top it off one dog broke wind couldn't stand the smell so had to leave never again
Restaurant review: Painful experience on Christmas day. Food took an insane amount of time to come out. An hour and a half before our starter, 3 hours before the main was sent. Food was mid at best. A scraping of gravy, frozen veg, soggy spuds. 0 love in the food. The waiting team were confused and directionless. All the patrons had no idea where the food was. I have empathy for hospitality staff on Christmas day, but you just lost a customer for life after spending a £100 pp on Toby Carvery standard food that arrived beyond late.
As a regular visitor here. Very disappointed with breakfast yesterday . Miniscule and expensive 3 wafer bits of bacon lost on plate. ! Had to ask for the toast as it had been forgotten … staff are friendly. But the normal staff were not there yesterday Why am i writing this review We went to the Charles Dickens later and saw the awsome breakfasts they were serving ! I felt totally ripped off and their price is cheaper ! Customers for breakfasts lost !
