Open till 11 in summer.



"We have been making our own gelato in Portstewart for 13 years. We make it in small batches using local Ballyrashane milk and cream, and the best Italian ingredients. We continually develop new recipes and expand our range of flavours, experimenting with interesting combinations and coming up with new ones. You can watch us make it in our ‘Gelato Lab’ and see the whole process, from pasteurisation to final decoration. We have hundreds of flavours, with up to 54 on display. We take pride in our presentation, and believe gelato should look as amazing as it tastes!"

I just love this place , the variety of ice cream are amazing, and sooooo delicious
Vegan paradise! Been twice now and chose 4 different flavours in total. Out of this world! 11 different vegan flavours to choose from. Icing on the cake is that you can walk out of the shop, across the road to sit at the crescent and get a stunning view!!
Our first time trying this icecream paradise, it was first class, proper locally made icecream with an assortment of delicious and wonderful flavours. The staff was so friendly and offered us tasting spoons of some of the flavours. 5 large tubs later we were in heaven. If you're looking great icecream go here.
Lovely cafe, really relaxing with an amazing view! They display artwork from local artists on the wall on the wall as well. The ice cream is all made in house and is really something else. The flavours mix about and they do specials for special times of the year. It's a great wee family run place and has been in the family for three generations so when you stop here you really are supporting a local business that's been in the town for years.
It's closing! What a shame. The best view from any cafe anywhere in Northern Ireland. Food is generally pretty good but their Victoria Sandwich today was abysmal. Have to give the lady in the cafe credit because when I told her I thought she ought to consider changing her cake supplier she wanted to know why and how and what I expected from a cake and said she'd definitely put this forward when orders were being made. That's when the bombshell hit us. Roughans is closing and it's to become apartments. What a surprise. They are moving further up the prom but will only be having an ice-cream shop. Morellis watch out
