Really enjoyed our experience at the Rothiemurchus Fishery. The fish were plentiful, nice size and put up a good fight. The scenery around the Fishery is stunning. My son really enjoyed bait fishing on the novice ponds and the staff were fantastic looking after him as I spent the afternoon on the fly ponds. My son and his friend caught 4 superb condition rainbows and loved every minute of it. If you enjoy fly fishing and are staying near Aviemore, be sure to drop in at Rothiemurchus Fishery for the day it was awesome!
Beautiful spot with lovely natural ponds and fishing for all levels. My fly-fishing-crazy son wanted to go every single day we were in the area.
Drove down from Inverness for my son's first fishing experience. A gentleman who worked there, Jamie, went above and beyond to ensure he had a great first experience. Highly recommend!
My mate nearly got kicked out because hes using powerbait while doing catch and release.Other than that its pretty stocked but they dont sell much fishing stuff in the shop funnily enough.
Visited with our 3 children and highly recommend. Booked online for 2 to fish and when we arrived we were given an additional rod, which was much appreciated. Jamie spent time explaining where to fish and giving us some tips. Had a successful visit and would have no hesitation returning.
Spent two mornings fly fishing here with my son catching some beautiful trout. The staff are really friendly and helpful, and they made a big deal out of creating a memory for my son’s first ever trout caught on the fly. We will never forget how great that moment felt and the amazing place we were surrounded by. Thank you so much for having us! Martin and Tom 8 years old
Jamie was superb and enthusiastic. He took lots of time to explain how it all works and make us feel welcome. Great fun and 12 fish caught in the hour, we released 9 but kept 3. Enjoyable experience and a different learning journey for our 12 year old.
Excellent day fishing here. The 2 guys are very friendly and went through the equipment and although I had fished previously it had been many years so was grateful for the instructions. The ponds were not overly busy and between the 2 of us we caught & released 6 fairly decent sized rainbows in the 1st pond and seen everyone around us who was bait fishing also catch in both the other ponds. There is an option to fly fish on the larger ponds further back, we walked round and seen one of the guys catch an 8lbs blue trout and another a 5lbs rainbow. Well worth a visit, great couple of hours spent here. Also seen some people with dogs, I think as long as they are under control and not in the water they are allowed. Will definatly be back next time we are in Aviemore.

We spent a wonderful time here ! We catched a fish every 5 to 10 minutes no kiding! ! Kind staff who helps you with your line and your rod and gives you precious advices ! There are some big fishes to catch here ! Highly recommended if you are around and want to catch some fishes !!
