I'm a big reviewer all over the UK and not local so sometimes when u so for something to eat at a takeaway I ask them to wash my food bowl..... Since start of covid everyone been totally fine regardless of where I've been in the UK. Tonight stop at rose cottage and they refused... So back to van... Wet wipes n paper napkins...job done. 2nd attempt...got food...not that great.... Tasted loads better locally

After moving local we’ve used this takeaway many times we’ve been very happy with the service and quality of food.
Having ordered from here multiple times previously, it is always an indicator of how good or bad a business is based on how they resolve a problem. Today we ordered and had food delivered. Part of the order was wrong due to a mistake made over the phone. A call was made to rectify this, no apology was offered just that they would redeliver the correct item and take payment of £1.40 at home. We explained that we had not eaten what was not ordered and would return this. After some debate it was agreed to swap this at no cost as it was their mistake. When the driver arrived he tried to take payment which we refused based on the previous conversation. He had us speak to the boss on the phone again who now said we would have to pay?! Again no apology and no customer service and the replacement food was taken away as we refused to pay based on principal! Such a small issue caused by the restaurant them self which would have cost less than 10% of the cost of the one order to resolve has now resulted in this review and the loss of multiple long term customers once word of mouth has spread between family and friends. STAY AWAY!

Have ordered from here since moving to the area 5 years ago. The food is always great and the staff are always polite and friendly. When we first moved here we tried most of the others in Conisbrough, but didn't like any of them, thankfully we found Rose Cottage :
Just had ours delivered rice , noodles , beef in black bean sauce was all cold . The Cantonese chicken well I think someone had poured the bucket of salt on it. The chips n prawn crackers was ok to be fair
Curry sauce nice and thick then next time like piss. Twice now. One more chance. Continuity please.
Beautiful food never been dissatisfied or disappointed....1st class food and very pleasant staff
