Small, intimate venue with a great feel, and warm and welcoming staff. Local to us and we’ve seen a real eclectic mix of artists perform here from Ghost story readings tonight to Nick Heyward playing our 80’s memories with the odd movie night in between. Set in what was the rope works and adjacent to the art gallery and excellent cafe. Enjoy real ale at a great price and/or sample an interval ice cream. A Great escape from the binge watch media of today whilst supporting a great local venue.
Just had a great evening's entertainment here. 12 Silk Handkerchiefs was entertaining and very interesting. Lovely "cosy" venue with an incredibly well stocked bar. Thanks to my friends for taking me along
Splendid venue! Great performance space and the bar is amazing! Huge range, and biggest low alcohol offering I've encountered!
Went to a music event, excellent venue Soft and alcoholic drinks Informal atmosphere Daoiri Farrell was an excellent entertaining irish folk singer Great night out
We hired the hall for our 40th wedding anniversary celebrations. It was a great venue and our dealings with all the staff were exemplary.
Have been to several concerts here and eaten in the cafe too. It's a very welcoming place with some excellent acts, none more so than Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman. It was their second visit here and the atmosphere was fab. The arrangement of tables for the audience, in small groups, was the best yet.
Saw John Ottway and Wild Willy Barratt, and met them both, what a great night and the restaurant adjoining was awesome too.
Such an interesting and beautiful venue steeped in history and surrounded with beauty. It also helped that It was a cracker of a day the day we were there.
What a great venue
Ropery Hall is one of my favourite venues for theatre, comedy and music. Our latest visit was to see, or rather listen to, a couple of M. R. James ghost stories exquisitely and expertly delivered by Robert Lloyd Parry. Due to the small nature of the venue, it feels close and intimate. I have nothing but praise for Ropery Hall, it's friendly staff and choice of performers and performances
