The accommodation was poor we stayed in a lake house, if i ever go again i would go back to a static. The lake house really poor design inside no shelves or hooks in both bathrooms. To have a shower you placed your clothes on the toilet seat lid, main bedroom had a nice port hole window only problem no blinds or curtains so when the sun was rising it was like having a search light on unreal. Main door didn't work properly as was the same with the patio doors the previous people had reported the issue but we were told the owners of the site won't buy new because to expensive to replace. I have saved the best for last . We couldn't use the patio because of the furry little friend's called RATS running around every where absolutely rubbish.
The phone network signal was very poor. No WiFi is available in the caravan only in the main entertainment block. There is no hand soap in the toilet. Bath towels were only supplied at an extra cost. There are no instructions on how to use the boiler, electric fire, oven, etc. Check-in is at exactly 4 pm. I got a message at 4.30pm saying that as I was arriving after the check-in time, the key would be left in the caravan, so it's not an issue, but would of been nice if the heating had been put on as it was cold on arrival and took awhile to warm up. The caravan was clean and tidy, and the kitchen was equipped with the basics, even though the knives were blunt and the washing up liquid was no bigger than a small bottle of hand cream. Not all caravans have parking spaces next to the caravan. There are parking areas, but spaces are not allocated. There is no small convenience store on site. However, there is a small Co Op just down the road. As a personal opinion, I found the beds to be uncomfortable as they were too soft and springy with not enough support. Good location, quiet and pretty much central on the island at a reasonable price.
Stayed with work for 4 nights supporting people to have a fun holiday disappointed that no entertainment on site apart from a bar that shuts at 9pm?? Asked why not given a satisfactory answer also 4pm on the dot check in seems crazy no wriggle room there so after travelling some 250 miles we were weary and had to wait an hour before checking in. Accommodation was nice and lovely location but taxi is extortionate buses good value and frequent but not enough on site a butlins or haven probably better bet.
I loved staying at this lovely and peaceful location. It offers great facilities for everyone pets and children included. The accommodations are simplt lovely and comfortable. It's self catering so you need to bring everything with you. It would be lovely to have the basics in the kitchen such as dishwasher tablets or washing liquid. Same for the bathroom. Having little bar soap on arrival make a massive difference and avoid a trip to the store which is super close by the way. Other than that.. it's a magical place to stay. Highly recommended!
We’ve been to a few Away Resort in the UK, this is probably the worst in terms of facilities. We upgraded to a “superior” Caravan, it turned out to be away below the standard comparing to other Away resort we’ve been to 1. The room doors are barely hanging there, need to work quite hard to open/close them 2. There’s no cloth hangers! Other Away Resort has always had them! There is not a single hanger on the wall… 3. We’ve seen rat in the room! And scratching the roof every night! 4. There’s no WiFi nor phone reception. We are in 2024… Other Away Resort also located in a poor reception country side, but at least they provide WiFi accesses with minimal usage speed. 5. One of the bed liners is full of sand and dirty when we arrived. So obviously it hasn’t been cleaned! 6. Missing cutleries and standard tea bags etc where other Away Resort we’ve been to has always provided. The staffs were friendly and mostly helpful, but the facilities are just below the standard… it’s a nice location to hop around the island, otherwise I would not recommend this place.
Nice site and reception staff helpful / pleasant. Easy parking close to Van which was clean and comfortable and impressed us as value for money. No complaints so we're now investigating their other sites for future breaksRooms: 5/5
It's a very nice site. With nice views, lovely and its peaceful. Everyone seems friendly enough, and the accommodation is clean and heated. However...... ...The site is well out of the way and the nearest pub is at least a 20 minute drive away. This then, makes you have to stay on site in the evenings and pay nearly 8 pound a pint!! Then the bar shuts at 9pm. Infact 5pm on sunday. No entertainment on offer for the month of june, no little on site shop , and there are a few rats scurrying about, which is obvious as lakes are on sight. There is a coop nearby if you need a bit of shopping. I cannot deny that the resort is lovely, because it is. It is a good resort if you are just looking for a peaceful uninterrupted few days away. Just bear in mind, car is needed.
We won't be going back. Very disappointed all round, we expected a good lake view, like we had in Away Resorts at Clumber Park, but the lodge was right at the top of the site with barely a lake view as the lodge was surrounded by trees and the only view to be seen was the corner of a thick algae ridden view of the lake. On arrival at the lodge there was no parking close by, so we had to trudge either through gravel or muddy path approx 100 ft away from our car with all our luggage, not a good start. I complained to reception and was told that it's on their website regarding the parking, but it would have been more acceptable to have been warned whilst booking the lodge of the problem and then it's choice to be able to make, rather than turn up and it's too late. The lodge was covered in cobwebs outside and the outside verandah very small and covered in green algae, the table was thick with debris from the trees, so not been cleaned for a long time, it was so dark and shady, hence we didn't use it. The toilet was very stained and dirty, unpleasant to look at, and the shower was very mouldy brown mould and over flowed all over the toilet floor, so we had to put towels down every time. There was no instructions on using the dishwasher or how to use the heated towel rail. Lampshades in the bedroom thick with dust and cobwebs and stains on the mattress. Safe to say we won't be returning.
We stayed last week for 5 days and it's a lovely site, the staff was helpful and reception was happy to help , The caravan we had was clean and very spacious, could do with a hoover being left in there I like to clean up after ourselves , We will be backRooms: 5/5
As 4 adults staying here we are very happy with the accomodation.. but very disappointed there is no entertainment in the club at all and that the bar closes at 9pm. If we had know this we wouldn't have booked to come hereRooms: 4/5
