I have received the best care for my new dog over the past 6 weeks. David performed a difficult surgery last minute which will be life changing for my new rescue shihpoo. I can’t express my gratitude enough. Every member of staff we saw including nurses and reception were all so informative, caring and friendly. Highly skilled team. A service that seems too good to be true ! Thank you so so much. Amy and mavvi xx
Was a pleasure to be served by them, the care they have given to me and my little man, before he gained his wings. Thank you to all the staff and vets at P.D.S.A Romford
What a joke !!! Every time I have to book for appointment for a friend who had s stroke and can't talk ,it's always an issue ,there are two receptionist sitting there ,how do I know because when I have to take my neighbour n his dog n were sitting there for 1-2 hours because I can't get through for appointment there sitting there chatting!!! Doesn't matter if iam late for work doing a friend a favour to help ..
Unfortunately, the reception lets this place down. They will happily sit there chatting about their personal lives knowing you are waiting to speak with them about your sick pet. I believe the welfare of the animals should come before their chit chat and gossip. The dispensary desk ladies do the same and glare at you. There’s no smiles, no politeness either, they don’t say hello or goodbye. It’s like you are a burden to the people that work here. Barring the actual Veterinary staff - they are exceptional. The worst thing that has happened to me here is being spoken to rudely at the desk by the older lady with the blonde fringe. I was trying to book in a euthanasia appt for my pet with tears rolling down my face and she was rude to me and abrupt about booking an appointment for me. And as for one of the staff who does the euthanasia she was rude also in the room to the right of the desk She was in a rush to put my pet down and I’m glad I said NO because my pet survived for a further 2 years later. Where is the care, sympathy and empathy in this place??nI’d advise the reception to be given some training on communicating to the public in a kinder and polite way. If that’s already been done then continuing professional development needs to be put in place. It’s such a let down. This place is for people on low income and has helped me out massively at times, I can’t say I feel welcomed when I do come here. So many things over the years has happened in this place which makes me feel unwelcome that it’s time I wrote this review. It’s sad as this is the closest PDSA I have to go to and I have no choice but to put up with this in what’s meant to be a charitable organisation.
Such a kind and hardworking team, everyone works so hard to ensure a good service for the pets and owners. The team goes above and beyond to provide great veterinary care for pets that otherwise would go untreated due to costs. Even if you have to pay for treatment here it is much cheaper than going private and the team do just as well. Some of the reviews here are awful, and I find them very hard to believe, no Veterinary professional is in the business to “kill pets” they love animals and it definitely shows here. Personally they have taken excellent care of my pets, offered great advice, given hand written notes to help me remember everything from the appointment and been so kind towards my animals especially my dog who is very nervous. I am so grateful for PDSA Romford and can’t imagine what I would do without them. People need to remember it’s a charity and can’t provide every service you may get private but they are there for those who need it. People moaning about leaving a contribution for their pets treatment need to stop and think if they never contribute they are draining the charity of their resources and one day they may not be there when you need them, even if you leave £5 it’s better than nothing, take some responsibility for your pet. Also for the people saying they killed their pets for no reason, I hate to imagine the condition your pet was in that it died there…nnThe picture is of my cat who the amazing team did everything they could to try and save her after a traumatic injury unfortunately the treatment wasn’t working and I decided for her quality of life to put her to sleep, the whole team were so lovely and truly cared for her. A big thank you to claire who was so lovely when putting Ivy to sleep, the whole thing was calm and painless and she was such a comfort, forever grateful for this team
