Site with thousands of yeast of history starting with the Bronze Age through to the Anglo-SaxonsVisited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
A good Roman monument is worth the very bumpy ground, it seems that moles walked or there is hunting for some treasure. Also the historical area around the Roman temple is full of trash. This place should be better preserved being a historic area.
This was very hard to find! The entrance is on River Way opposite the Lazer lighting warehouse. On a Sunday there is plenty of parking in the surrounding industrial estate but it could be tricky on a weekday. The site itself is lovely, nicely looked after while preserving the natural setting. The information posters are informative. It's a shame the site is surrounded by industrial buildings and factories but it's a quiet haven. Worth a visit if you're in Harlow.
Didn't know this place existed until my daughter did some homework on the history of Harlow! Great little historical find.
You need to park your car on a street nearby and may be difficult to find a spot. The signs the city put up explaining the site are falling apart by wind and rain. The path is maintained somewhat; a good place for a picnic in the summer. The most disappointing thing is that people have been coin hunting with metal detectors and totally destroyed the grass. There are thousands of holes - so many that you have to watch your step to not twist an ankle.
Shamelessly wasted site. Full of stinging nettles or spiky thistles. The only safe seating is the path. The car park as been needlessly blocked for over a year. Those responsible for this potentially beautiful site should be ashamed.
Definitely a place to check out if your visiting or just in Harlow!! Trying to find it without the help of google maps in tricky but worth the find 10/10Visited onWeekdayReservation recommendedNo
Yes im right with you such a nice bit of history and such a waste of place. Does looks like noone have been looking after this place for a years . Have been in this place today.
Daughter excited to visit a roman site as studying at school. Not a lot to see but good information boards
Great place to visit hidden from the public eye, parking is highly problematic except on a Sunday
