I experienced discrimination whilst trying to rent a property. I have been told that they cannot take me or my family on their books as my son doesn’t earn enough! My disabled daughter is in receipt of PiP and I am a full time carer. Our benefits were not even taken into consideration. We were just told no and in no uncertain terms to not apply again. I am sure that between the three of us we would meet the requirements needed. I am also sure that it is against the law to refuse someone a tenancy because they are on benefits. I was almost accepted by the landlord when I first viewed a property.. it sounded promising, I was told when I rang the agents after the viewing, to take a deposit to the estate agent the following morning and  they would hold the property for us.. only to get a message saying someone else had paid a deposit between the phone call late afternoon and 9am as the estate agents doors opened. I went there on the train to pay my deposit to be told the lady on the phone shouldn’t have told me to bring a deposit. They needed paperwork first. I sent over all the documents they needed. But I feel they had already made their decision. It wasn’t us! I will not waste my time with this estate agent again. To save yourself disappointment and unnecessary upset I advise you do the same

Worst estate agent ever. AVOID They accepted my offer for a home, I set up an mortgage and solicitor etc, upon sending the money, they stated they didn't accept the offer, I asked for a phone recording and they didn't give it to me to prove they were wrong, after I paid for a surveyance that was non refundable.  AVOID AT ALL COST, THEY WILL NOT ACT RESPONSIBLY.  AND yes, before you say it, my offer was ACCEPTED!

Just had my fencing done by a lovely guy called Jamie who actually ended up doing three garden,  he was so professional and moved all the rubbish, so polite and I would highly recommend him. If anyone needs a fencer hes your man.

Tenants beware - the agreement they ask you to sign is unreasonable and exploitative. You need the landlord's permission for guests to stay overnight, and receipts for all bill payments to get your deposit back subject to various deductions, such as replacement of tap washers. There is no inventory or other guarantee of property condition at the start of the tenancy, and no advance notice given for viewings or entry by workmen. Various charges apply - such as £150 for breaching any terms of the agreement, regardless of how minor or subjective there is a requirement "not to do anything to annoy the landlord", and a £75 charge for not serving notices despite no notice details being given. There is also a £75 charge for missing appointments, and a £25 charge just to refund rent. They withdraw your tenancy offer if you ask for anything to be changed.

Chose this Estate Agent to rent my first private home and it is the best choice i made. Since i moved in Sept ‘20 they have made it easy and a pleasure to deal with, any issues they or I have had have been worked out quickly, efficiently and everyone I have dealt with has been attentive to my needs. Responses are always made within the hour by e-mail and calls answered first time when calling the office. If it’s your first time or any time renting or buying a new home choose these guys, this is who will be handling my first property purchase next year when I get on the ladder and i’m looking forward to it.

I am the co owner of a buy to let property which was purchased 14 years ago. This is my first and only property and I had no idea what being a landlord involved . We used Deans as they have a good reputation in the area  where the  property is and from the outset they were excellent. My first contact was with Carole the manager and she was so professional and organised with a fantastic team of staff who are  experienced and fully trained in all the requirements involved in renting out a property. Carole and her team guide me and ensure that the property is of a good standard,safe and within legal requirements. They carry out regular checks feed back to me if any repairs are required in order for the tenants to be safe and comfortable. I cannot stress just how important it is to have this wonderful team at Deans behind me and ensuring I am supported as a landlord but equally important making sure the tenants are comfortable and safe . For any landlord looking for support I would highly recommend Deans to manage your property and for anyone renting I would also look to Deans as they will do their very best to ensure your needs are met.

I have been a tenant with Roger Dean for the past 4 years . I've always had a quick response to any issues and always had direct communication with Martin. He is a  credit for the company. The handy men are quick and pleasant and have dealt with all sorts of problems big and small. Compared to some of the larger agents in town these guys are far better and far more personable. I would definitely recommend them.

As a Landlord I have found Roger Dean Estate Agents to be very competent at managing our properties. They are inspected regularly and we are contacted if any work needs doing. Furthermore as any problems are dealt with speedily we seldom have issues with rent arrears and if a problem does arise they work with the tenant to resolve the matter.
