Walked the upstream trail as far as the ford/bridge then back down the far side. Lovely fairly flat walk with plenty of shade. No wheelchair access over the footbridge. Didn't attempt the downstream trail as it appeared to be slightly more difficult terrain. Nice cafe and picnic area on return. Museum was closed when we were there. Great to get your steps in.
Lovely area, well kept with public toilets and a rather expensive cafe. Loads of picnic tables available and nice outdoor walking routes. Great place to visit when the sun graces our sky's.
Beautiful Country Park. Circular walk around a stream takes about an hour to complete.. Several picnic tables available also has a designated disabled picnic table. Part of the park suitable for wheelchairs. Electric charging facility near the car park. Rest rooms available. Dogs allowed on lead. Restrooms: Well maintained
Excellent secluded spot for a nice walk, and you can go along one side of the river and come back on the other side, if you’re up for about 3 miles. There is a longer option too, over a second bridge. Of course, you can do a shorter one, just go along one side and turn. Lovely spot, well maintained paths, and nice picnic area too
Very relaxing wee walk we had here and a delicious panini for lunch definitely recommending this place for a lovely picnic in the nice weather or a good walk
Beautiful park and excellent walks. Great coffee in Al's. Plenty of people walking their dogs all the ones seen were on a leash. The river was really flowing after the recent rains but beautiful none the less Dog-friendliness: There are lots of dog walkers, but not so many that they took over the walks.
Visited during the summer . Beautiful park with lovely riverside walks. The goats and the trampoline were entertaining! Lovely cafe too!
Fantastic! We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the Country Park for a few hours. The scenery by the river is beautiful and although some of the paths may prove challenging underfoot they are definitely worth the effort. There is something for everyone here. Roe Valley is definitely worth a visit but make sure you cover both sides of the river to fully appreciate the beauty of the place.
Love going here. Its always filled with pleasant people, some with dogs and some of those dogs are off the lead so if this is an issue please use caution. It has the most amazingly funny goats there who sometimes show off their skills on their trampoline. There are cows there and the last couple of times there, there were horses and donkeys there too but they're not always there. There are walks down close to the river but these are not proper paths and are full of tree routes so again, please use caution. The parking is good although on really good days you may have to park outside the entrance as everyone seems to have the same idea and all attend there. There is fishing available there ran by the roe angling club I believe its called. There is a place to get food there too which is very good or there are limited seats to bring your own and have a picnic. It's an area steeped in history and some of the signs are very informative. Well worth a trip, even on a bad day to brighten you up. There isn't a person who passes you who doesn't say hello.
Great spot for a good walk and a lovely lunch. Highly recommended.
