My father moved from a home deemed outstanding to Rodwell House just before Christmas. He settled in straight away in fact better than the last home he was at. From the start of the process of moving him and continuing now, we have felt very well supported as a family and we are so pleased we found this home for him. The staff are brilliant with him and understand his routine and fit around him. He loves the open space and being able to roam around and chat to the staff. We are really looking forward to using the garden in the summer and with the children’s play area there, the joy children playing gives to the residents i am sure will be immense.
I'm hoping the home has improved since my mother stayed there several years ago. I have written reviews before for Rodwell. My reviews are honest and not exaggerated. I believe there has been several manager changes since my mother was moved to another nursing home but my mother had several safeguarding orders placed on her due to extremely poor care. My mother survived several aspirational episodes due to extremely dangerous feeding by unqualified and non English speaking staff. My mother left with matted hair, dirty faeces encrusted nails and marks on her body where slings had been left on her during the day and dug into her skin. I hope it's improved.
My mum is really happy and settled at Rodwell and we're pleased with the care she's been receiving. I would recommend the home to others looking for somewhere to keep their loved ones. We've found that anything we have asked the manager or front of house team we've had a response straight away. Always clean when we come in. Carers are really helpful and friendly too.
Would definitely recommend Rodwell to anyone! I'm happy here and I've settled really well. I couldn't think of a bad word to say. I'm very pleased with my room and my outdoor space - I have my own personal garden that I can use when I want to get outside. I'm happy with the staff that take care of me and the people I speak to front of house.
My Mummy stayed here for 7months, she was well looked after, I visited everyday and have lunches etc… so I could see for myself mummy was taken care of and the staff were lovely and helpful.nI would recommend this place!nDeborah Shepherd
