Shocking support. Do not waste your money!!!!! Class size too big for the amount of trainer's available to help. To busy shouting commands from middle of floor through a head set rather than support anyone struggling. Looks like they take the easy option and help well behaved dogs. Happy to take your cash on the first night only real involvement was counting the cash amount. They should be totally ashamed to call themselves trainer's. DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!
Knowledgeable, friendly, professional, what more could you ask for. Good facilities, indoors and out. Me and the Missus are happy with our weekly visits, but more importantly, Pisces, our Caucasian Shepherd, adores the place. Well worth the 5 star rating.
Ellen is a fantastic trainer. I have taken both my dogs to her for 121 advice and also to the classes. She has a wonderful way with the dogs and gets them feeling comfortable and confident within no time. She has helped me to understamd my dogs’s needs and how to help overcome their barriers. I would definitely recommend Ellen to anyone who needs that little support in training their dogs.
Went there for puppy training and now we are spending time and money to resolve the issues caused by Rockwood trainers... Over 20 puppies for a class, trainer shouting directions from the middle of poorly managed hall. No support and directions. Dogs are allowed to interact or rather - go crazy playing in the middle of class which makes them all overstimulated. This "puppy interaction" feels more like a time filler for trainers to chat. When my dog started barking out of overstimulation, the trainer just shouted to me "tell him off!". When he didn't stop one of the helpers was sent over to watch me from up close but not advise me and help?! Very harmful for dogs and teaching not much more than you would learn from youtube video. If you expect this class to teach your puppy any life skills - you will be extremely disappointed. Waste of money and will probably give your dog more issues than you had before you arrived. Replying to emails and texts only when they expect money off you. Also you can only pay in cash which is really dodgy. The main trainer woman aggressively yanking crying out loud terrified rescue dog around when he struggled in front of all class. Very quick to use slip leads even when they know dog haven't got much loose lead training. I am frankly shocked these trainers are in business... I was considering writing a review for some time and seeing last one I feel like people should know what they're wasting money on. Taking your dog there is not kind and a massive rip-off...
Don't hesitate to take your dog to Ellen if you are having issues. Don't mess around with other trainers if you have any behaviour or nervous issues. We've tried a lot and ahead the best. Such a shame we didn't go there first.
All of my puppies have gone to these classes, for training and socialising, they all attended for 3 courses each , this has left me with 3 well trained dogs , that I can safely take most places ,and I feel proud! Money very well spent!!!!
I could never recommend Rockwood dog training enough to anyone! With previous dogs we’ve had all different trainers but never ever had a dog trained as well as our one who has been through rockwoods training courses. Also we have a Caucasian Shepard who can’t just be trained by anyone due to nature and are commonly known for aggression and protection. Through Ellen’s knowledge and help we have a very calm and placid dog which is very unusual for the breed but that is due to Ellen and her fantastic knowledge about the breed which many don’t have a clue about! There is nothing you can’t ask the team about and most importantly they never judge they just help and guide you with what is best for your dog. Never will I go anywhere else again. No other trainer could come close to Rockwoods ethics and knowledge! 10/10 and more!
110% fantastic I dont know where I would be without rookwood. no words can thank them enough. Best place to go. All staff are wonderful and very helpful you can ask them anything and they are there to help 100% there for you and your dog. And that's the face he pulls when its training day lol.
Very helpful and would highly recommend nothing was to much trouble for the trainers and always there to help and give good advice.
Love taking my dog here for group sessions. Have seen a huge improvement in my dog's behaviour and my confidence in what I'm doing as his owner. We're both learning. The instructors are all lovely too!
