Rocking Chair
"The Rocking Chair Bar, or 'Rocker' to the locals, is an institution in Derry. Located on the edge of both the famous Derry Walls and the fabled Bogside, it has the atmosphere of a local with the energy of a pub in the heart of the city centre. The Rocking Chair Bar serves an excellent pint of Guinness and the Lounge hosts great live music Wednesday to Sunday. The Rocker has been owned by the Duffy family for generations and they have years of experience entertaining customers. Our staff know how to make a visitor welcome. Come in and see us, we're the friendliest Bar in Derry."

We've had a lovely sunday lunch/dinner at the Rocking Chair. It's a nice, spacy place with tables and chairs in and outside and situated next to the Derry Wall, inbetween the Diamond and the Bogside. The food is great, the prices are good and there's always a lively atmosphere. One of my favorite places to eat in Derry town.
The food was absolutely amazing. The staff was very nice and helped us with our choice. We ordered the coliflower, two chicken dishes, the battered fish and the chilli squid and we left super full and the price was more than reasonable
Great bar, friendly staff and excellent food at a good price.
So friendly - went there with the clipper race when we arrived. the landlord opened up not the bar at 8am to let us watch the NZ rugby game. Brought us so much delicious food wouldn’t let us pay… and made us feel at home. What a welcome!
It's a bar, it's fine. The space is nice and not too drunk/sticky. Good view of the town. Cocktails are very sweet, so stay with whiskey or beer.
The rocking chair bar is a fabulous place to drink, eat and listen to some great music with a very impressive beer garden and outdoor drinking/smoking area, the staff are friendly and make you feel very welcome, we are on holiday in derry at the moment and it's places like this that make you want to return again. Thank you so much to all in the rocking chair bar who gave us a true irish welcome may peace stay with the good people of northern irelan
The food is wonderful! Have been there a couple times and will go many more! Kudos to the chef and the very nice barman/server.
Walked in, seen a woman off her head on drink with what appeared to be her kid. We moved to the back bar and seen just as horrifying scenes teenagers painted orange and dressed like call girls. Didn’t finish our drinks, stood up and left.
Excellent pub grub and even though I was driving and had a Heineken zero, Id go back for a proper pint when in Derry next time. Great location for a meal and a tipple if you are doing the Derry Walls walk right near the Butcher's Gate.
Great staff, great food and very helpful with our disabled friend and his scooter. Definitely recommend.
