Interesting & very English town on South East England. I have been back many times. Spend the whole/half day or just a few hours on the train route to Dover, it is highly recommended.
I dropped off at the train station here on my way to Gravesend, by invitation of my brother in law. The station was clean and well maintained. The parking lot has lots of spaces for taxis and pickup vehicles. Look forward to visiting again
After experiencing a terrible week, having my bank cards stolen and my Oyster card deciding to stop working I learn that my Nana is unwell and HAVE to visit her in Rochester, I live in Sheffield and do not get to see her very often, she is 85 years old. I spoke to the Lady at Victoria barriers who allowed me to travel, unfortunately when arriving at Rochester I came across someone who just did not want to listen to a word I said, instead deciding to humiliate me in-front of other customers by calling me a fare dodger despite being let through by a person WITH feelings and does care. All you had to do was talk to me like a person! When arriving back to my hotel in Euston later in the evening I receive a call from my family saying she is very unwell and is likely to be taken to hospital.
Horrible staff that man that station in the evening, treat everyone like a criminal. In their eyes guilty until you prove them you’re not! Seems they manipulate and bully you for their own satisfaction. Nasty.
