Friendly staff asking about my weekend plans. Chips were proper English chips however I found the whole meal somewhat underwhelming and quite expensive... Instead I've tried a place around the corner and found it to be more my preference.
Absolutely disgusting. The fish looked as though it. Had given itself up, the chips, all 12 of them were soggy and inedible. The best place for them was the bin which is where they ended up. This was the first visit and the last.
The fish may well be cooked to perfection?? Fish is not my thing. The chips however, were soggy with grease and vile! Binned em'!! One can only presume the fish is fried with the sane lack of care quality and attention that puts this nation to shame. I wish I had something positive to say about my experience... but don't!
The quality of the food here is five star. The fish is cooked to order, either battered, lightly battered or very lightly battered, to suit you. It's always perfect. The service here is also five star. Orders can be 'phoned in and it's always ready within 25 mins, often within 15 mins. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the shop has all the relevant Covid precautions in place. Congratulations to Rob and his staff.
All I had was a chip barm, best chip barm I've had in years. Proper old school well cooked chips.
Always Friendly and because I'm a regular the staff know what I want. Robs a top bloke and very friendly and chatty with his customers. So is the staff. Not sure why the low reviews? Been going to Robs for the past 10 years for a fish and chip dinner. Also when I cant be bothered to cook will pop in for a nice jumbo sausage, chips and mild curry sauce. Always have small chips as large too much for me. The chips have always been nice and fresh and the fish is cooked to die for. And can't wait till June/July for the new potatoes. The ones giving poor reviews must be the type who mess Rob and his staff about. Have witnessed this first hand where customers can't make their minds up and try it on.
£2:70 for a chip barm is a bit steep!
Disgusting greasy foul way overpriced so called cone of chips 18 Both portions went into the bin after two chips and a had to spit what I had in my mouth out they were so full of grease. Why is there a no stars option ? Avoid go elsewhere public
not very happy with the food, the staff were extremely friendly! but unfortunately this is review is based on the food. the food was disgusting! the chips were very poor quality the other items weren't so bad. since eating food from here I cant stop going to the bathroom and my stomach feels very ropey. will not be buying food from there again!
Really disappointed at tonights tea kings lock was closed so tryed robs chippy and got one of the 2 jumbo saussage and i ordered a last minute e extra pie my only review summes up in one word discracefull.
