1st time back here for some time. Was put off for a while after having an order that was very poor value for money, both in quantity and quality. It was Saturday night and we expected service to slow. It wasn't horrendous, although our friends ordered before us and didn't get their food for 10 minutes after we got ours. Portion size was generous. Both my cod and chips were, however, very greasy. Taste wise I have had worse, but everyone needsd a lot of hand rowel after to mop mop the grease from their hands and elsewhere. Not as good as Frydays, but at a push they are OK.
I don’t normally do a review but I feel it’s only right to do so on this occasion. My normal fish & chip shop do not deliver and the weather conditions were awful so I phoned Robinsons, I was quoted a 18:30 slot but it did not arrive until 19:00. I was told they were very busy and I replied that’s okay but the food must not be cold. The manager said not to worry, the delivery soon arrived and was not only warm hot but was amazingly cooked and of very good quality , thank you guy’s I will be ordering again soon.
Tried to order by phone - was left waiting for 15+ mins. Fish and chips were good!Food: 4/5
this chippy is the best one you can get. whenever im there the staff are the kindest and not one bad thing is said, its clean space. the orders dont take long and they have options for everything. shoutout phil
The food was lovely when it eventually came. We have ordered from here many times and have never had a bad meal. However, 2 hours after the order was placed we were assured the delivery would be on the way soon, and we'd be compensated for the wait with some *extra bits* thrown in with the meal. Well, those extra bits turned out to be a bottle of sprite, 2 gurkins and 2 hard boiled eggs. Quite dissapointing and honestly not sure why the resturant bothered!? Perhaps if you really were as busy as you said you were, you shouldn't have accepted the order in the first place? Or at least ring us to let us know of the delays so we could change our plans before it got too late. Such a shame, next time we won't be relying on delivery!

Chips were ok a lot had black spots through them, batter crisp, curry sauce was thick and delicious.... But fish was dripping in oil. The cod was absolutely inedible. We tried to dab off the excess with paper towel, but we all had to pick the batter off in order to just eat it. This was our second try. I even requested when ordering over the phone that they let it sit for longer, as our last order we had was sitting in a pool of oil in the box. I was promised he would personally ensure that it was not oily this time. I would only recommend if you have an unhealthy obsession with fish and chips and need to be turned off forever. The only reason I haven't given 1 star is to not appear vindictive.
Good prices good portion sizes we had far to much which is nice will definitely use again
