1st time I've been in around 10 years. Took my Australian friend so she could get some long boots & there were plenty for her to choose from. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Myself on the other hand couldn't find any to fit as I'm in a men's long boot, they had a choice of 2 both of which were ok if you have legs like sticks! That's very rare for a horse rider with 20 years in the saddle. I also shopped for a bridle & they hadn't got any of the ones I was interested in in the size I wanted... I liked 3 or 4 different ones as well!! Definitely not worth making a special journey for anymore like it used to be. Sports direct need to take note they cannot run an equestrian store like the jumble sale style racks they have in there normal shops! Only good point was all the rugs were out on the racks for self service which I liked.
The staff know what they are talking about, have an extensive knowledge and understanding of their inventory and are happy to help out, and if they are busy they have always politely pointed me in the direction of another helpful staff member. The checkout experience is usually smooth and met with friendly smiles and a good attitude, so whether you are going walking, cycling, riding, camping, this place is great for gear and equipment for outdoorsy needs
Great range of equestrian wear at reasonable prices. A full range of outdoor clothing, fishing gear and accessories, pet supplies, and sports equipment. And a cafe on site to recharge before returning home. Great staff - very knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble. My wife and I will definitely go again.
Good for all things horse related although the last couple of times I've been they seem to carry much less stock. Hope its not s sign of impending closure as not enough shops like this. Also has a cafe
Great prices and quality, we do a lot with dogs and the wife used to spend a fortune on jeans and leggings, they just didn't last with all the abuse I bought her some jodhpurs and they've lasted for years. And they weren't expensive, same with ankle boots she was buying about 4 pairs a year wears them all the time, now buys jodhpur boots and they last ages. Never had a problem I just ask one of the staff and they find me exactly what I want.
What happened. It’s been a number of years since I have had a horse I remember an Aladdins cave of everything equestrian. It’s nowhere near that now. Still a fairly decent size inside but full of a great deal of nothing at all. I was looking forward to the visit but I was totally underwhelmed. Also the staff where somewhat meh when we where asking for riding boots it felt like everything was just too much trouble.
Useless since changing hands. Staff don't know anything about the horse side. Sell nothing of use, just lots of the same in different sparkly colors. Fine if you are 6yrs old and you want to dress your pony up!! What they do sell is expensive rubbish. Every time I have to go, for everyday, bog standard items that they should stock, they don't stock it! Waste of space and money! Save yourselves a journey.
It's certainly got plenty of stuff. I wanted some Muck Boots for the daughter and they had a good range, but it was expensive. I ended ordering them online. I'm not a horse person so I could really comment on that but I'm thinking they have most stuff you could want but it won't be the cheapest.
Gone really downhill since Sports Direct took over. My local tack shop has more choice. Shelves were half empty and now only the lower floor is devoted to equestrian items, except for footwear which is upstairs. A wasted hour and half round trip. Sadly I will never go again unless it is brought back to its former glory.
VERY DISATISFIED bought boots for a present asked about refund policy said I could return in 28 days but was NOT told by “manager” that I could only have a credit note or replacement. Very crafty move! Will NOT be shopping there again. Bad customer service. Sign on count only visible if you are standing directly behind it & have 20/20 vision
