After a recent, first time appointment at Bayfields, I would highly recommend them. The staff were really helpful and extremely friendly. The eye test was very thorough and everything was explained well. Ben is very knowledgeable and makes you feel at ease. I would recommend a visit.
Today was my first visit to Bayfields Egham and both Ben and Chelsey were great. My daughter and I came for an eye test with Ben which was thorough and well explained throughout. My daughter was comfortable and I felt confident every aspect of our vision and eye health was checked. Chelsey patiently spent time with me making sure I was completely happy with my glasses selection and offered welcome suggestions. All the staff at Bayfields Egham were courteous and friendly and made me feel welcome and at ease. For years I have gone to another High St chain but now I'll be returning to Bayfields Egham instead. I cant wait to collect my new glasses.
The name may have changed but the customer care and choice of glasses hasn't. In case you were wondering where Robinson & Lamb disappeared to in Egham High Street, no fear, they've morphed into Bayfields Opticians & Audio-ologists. Pretty well the same gang of smiley individuals who, above everything else, know what they're doing. In particular Amy, who now runs the show after starting at R&L as a Saturday trainee years ago. A very special mention to the trendiest dresser ever to appear in an opticians, Vicky, who has the patience of a saint. How she put up with an old duffer like me trying to use Contact Lenses I'll never know, but she did and just for that, she should have got a huge salary increase. Another big positive is Ben who, like Vicky, is Mr Patience Personified in running through a very thorough eye test with me only a few days ago. No 'look into my eyes, pay and go' at Bayfields. If you want that and in a hurry, then you've gone to the wrong place. The investment in new kit is quite staggering too and 'bang up to date' as Ben was very proud to point out. They have a great choice of frames and buying Contacts couldn't be easier. They can offer the entire process from start to finish and even ship the little blighters to you if you're unable to pop in to their Egham branch. Then you'll get to meet Vicky. Check out the shoes. In summary, if you want personal and high quality care for your eyes then in my opinion, Bayfields take a lot of beating. I wouldn't go anywhere else and since using them from the R&L days, I now live 230 miles away. And no, I didn't get extra discount on my last purchase. In a world of generally falling standards, the team at Bayfields Egham deserve their recognition for being consistently excellent.
I visited Bayfields today and had a full eye test with Ben. He was extremely knowledgeable and explained the whole process which was very reassuring. The whole team were absolutely lovely, and were really welcoming and kind. I couldn’t recommend highly enough.
Ben the optician made me feel very welcome, super profesionsl. Diadnosed my eye issue & am seeing a private hospital for free on NHS would highly recommend Bayfields.
From the online booking system, to the welcome at the door, the extensive eye-test and guidance when selecting new frames and lenses … you can be assured of a quality and professional service at all times. The care and attention to detail is meticulous, delivered politely and with a smile. My experience was faultless and I am super happy with my new glasses.
I had an eye examination today with Ben and it was a completely different experience to the main high street opticians who just want to process you like cattle. Ben was a complete professional and Chelsea was really helpful on the glasses too. You might pay a little bit for for a test but you get a LOT more
Ben was fantastic for an eye exam! Felt so comfortable, everything explained very well. If you are nervous of medical examinations, 100% Ben is the person to go to!

The staff here are very welcoming as soon as you arrive. I've never had to wait longer than 5 minutes past my appointment time, and the eye tests are very thorough, the optician made sure he knew all my history and put me at ease while he carried out all the necessary checks and tests.
