Very well run take away in the centre of Sligo town. Open late. Open view of the kitchen/kitchen area.Food: 4/5
All I can say is that it's by far the very best take away in sligo, only discovered it the past 6 months and iv been a good few times now always recommend food deliciousFood: 5/5
Fantastic portions as always. Only place to go for smoked cod. Amazingly delicious.Food: 5/5
Firstly, the staff are always extremely friendly and the place is spotless. Well done Roberto's for that. Collection: It can be very up and down. Sometimes the chips are lovely and the next time only around half of them are edible. I don't know if it's sometimes you go in and the chips are sitting in the chip box warmer for a while already or if it's the oil being old and you've gone in on a bad day before it's changed? Compared with some other chip shops I've had in Sligo/Leitrim the most important product the chip just isn't consistent like you'd hope. Delivery: Avoid at all costs. I live a 3-4 minute drive away but it can take an hour for delivery. I don't mind waiting if the food is fresh, but then I spotted the driver heading out the door of the shop with a box full of orders which explains why 9 out of 10 times the food will arrive barely edible. If you're unlucky you'll be one of the last orders in that box delivered because your food probably goes on a 30+ minute tour of Sligo before getting to you. It's unacceptable really. Please hire a few more drivers for busy times to cut down on the time between food leaving the fryer and it arriving to customers. S1 Pizza down the road similarly take around an hour for delivery, but they aren't sending out half a dozen orders with one driver. I usually get a text 45+ minutes after ordering saying the food is with the driver and he arrives a few minutes later with piping hot food because it's sent straight out to me. The Indian places like Poppadom are open 20+ years and similarly send everything out directly, so it's clearly possible to run a successful takeaway delivery service where the food always arrives fresh.
Always get order wrong or leave something out. 1st time back to order for a few years and still the same, pity because food is OK but it's not hard to get the little things right
Excellent chipper. Extremely well run. Professional kitchen with impressive staff.
Nice looking and clean. Staff are fast to serve you and food is fairly quick even when the place is busy lots of the things on the menu are good, but I order a portion of curry sauce with my food and what I got was gross.. It was more like some disgusting kinda soup tasted bland and watery and left me queezy from its taste and unappetising appearance.. I don't know what it was but it went in the bin and I won't forget the experience. But the rest of my food was really good. Even though the off putting curry sauce..
Food as always great, and our waiter friendly and attentiveFood: 5/5
I've gotten the chicken baquette a few times recently. Somwtimes it's lovely, with a nice slaw, and other times it's drowning in mayonnaise. I wish they would keep it consistent, so I know what I'm getting
I searched for pizza places on Google and this place didn't come up, yet they have a very large wood fired pizza oven. The dough, sauce and cheese were all excellent and finally got a good pizza for a reasonable price in Ireland! Most of the negative reviews seem to be about delivery. Just go there! With a big wood fired pizza oven you are in and out in 10 minutes. Highly recommend! We ended up going there a 2nd night we enjoyed the margarita pizza so much.
