Tasty coffee & walnut cake at Roberto’s in York. I had the coffee & walnut cake. It was well balanced in taste and not sickly sweet. They do a nice selection of other baked goods and also ice cream which is well reputed. Coffee was decent too.
Well, we almost resigned to visit this place because of the long queue outside of the cafe but... fortunately decided to wait and had a look inside. Very small cafe with few tables and limited flavours of icecream but there is something more than that. What makes this place extraordinary is idea and way how those gelatos are made. For some visitors it might be another stop while walking through this wonderful city, just another good coffee or dessert. But if you look a little bit closer, if you realise you've just tried a gelato that will never be the same again, which changes every time during production, you will find out this cafe is unique and has a soul. This is what I expected from magical city of York - magically sweet Roberto's cafe.

IN GOODRAMGATE YORK CITY if you ever pay a visit to this particular place and you are looking for an authentic Gelato, You will not be disappointed it's AMAZING .There are many flavours all made on the premises all to be tried. ..You will after this point never taste Gelato like this anywhere else Don't blame me if you get hooked on it haaaaaa .It truly is Gorgeous honestly. It also serves homemade pizza slices Veggie as well.Coffees Tea's the usual drinks hot and cold. Cakes/sweets etc.Tell you what! Incredible ice cream gelato shop in York!! Truly phenomenal taste with so many different flavours that keeps changing with different seasonal produce! Staff members were lovely and despite the small que it was so worth it :!! Staff were really nice and it is truly one of a kind gelato in York. Highly recommend it!
We have been coming for gelato for a number of years. The flavours are amazing, especially the pistachio, hazelnut, and lemon and basil sorbet! Always get a friendly face when you get served. They also have delicious cannoli’s!!
Best Italian ice-cream we are in a long time. Delicious and reach in flavour ice-cream. We had passion fruit flavour which tasted literally like a fruit itself. Vanilla and which had pod seeds and intense natural vanilla flavour and Baccio which is typical Italian ice-cream with Nutella and whole hazelnuts, this one was mouth watering. If you are ever visiting York don't miss this place. I didn't even manage to snap photos of the ice-cream we ordered properly as we enjoyed it so much.
Fantastic gelato made in-house, really good coffee and genuinely warm service. Possibly the best ice cream of my life!
Had a delicious light lunch, great coffee and finished off with a generous 'medium' ice cream in a sugar cone - something I haven't had since I was a child. Made my day. : Only problem was choosing a flavour - definitely going back to try some more.
Always a pleasure visiting here! Fresh cannoles & rich ground coffee are a great way of relaxing inbetween exploring York.
