Although I don't live in Chesterfield, I purposely choose to use this butchers as the quality is outstanding. I purchased my Christmas day meat from here and chose brisket as I had a few family members over and we couldn't decide what meat to have. Brisket suited everyone. I was not disappointed. The meat was lovely and melted in your mouth. Plenty for everyone even the next day. The joint was huge for just under £20. Just enough fat on it to keep it moist and make great gravy. I have yet to buy any meat from here that has not met my expectations and the prices are great value.
Love their dripping but last couple of times the jelly has not been set , its very runny and u have to poor it on ur toast or bread sorry bowrings
Was disappointed by the trays of roast pork + crackling with chips we ordered, one set of crackling was chewy and jelly-like while the other set was burnt and inedible. The chips were also disappointing - undercooked. Their ribs are nice though.
Great service great food. Been using this butcher's since the first lockdown to shop and support local and have never been disappointed. Only issue I'd have is the plastic everything is wrapped in. But then again I haven't asked for an alternative yet.
This buthers quality has slipped since a large change in staff, bought a 2kg chicken breast pack for 9.99 took it home and removed it from its packaging and it was swimming in a slimy watery bloody bath, separated it and froze it, defrosted the 1st pack yesterday in the fridge over night and it was bad, it smelt like mushrooms and 1 piece had a green streak on it. Unfortunately this isn't the 1st time I've bought "fresh" meat and threw it because of the smell and having no confidence in it's freshness.
Bought some fillet steak as it's on offer with some tomato sausage and bacon. Fillet steak was exceptional! Everything was top quality.

Call on my way to work for a cob or a dinner, food excellent, quite cheap to. Staff are very friendly and quick to serve. Well worth a visit.
