The board walks were ok, until a dozen cows decided to join us. We retreated to a passing place and we carried on just fine until they turned around and came back. I could imagine some would find this worrying. Worth wearing wellies if it's been raining at all and you want to walk around the lake or along the towpath.
I love this beautiful place. The pathway is a brilliant idea to give people access. There are all sorts of wildlife to see. It's quiet and peaceful, a place to reflect on life. If you walk further along the river you can see cattle grazing. A local resident stopped to talk to us about the plans the council has for the area. They are knocking down all the houses and business along the river to build a new town. This is such a shame. They just need to tidy up the mess along the river.
Peaceful not too busy place to walk timid dogs on a winter weekday anyway. Has parking and poo bins. No entry fee. Canal paths and boardwalks.
A nice place to go for a walk, with or without a dog. The paths get quite muddy but it looks like there's some work going on to improve them. The boardwalks are well maintained and there's paths linking to the River Wey.
Beautiful area. Guildford has made more accessible but they haven't made the entire lake walk accessible. The disabled bays have gone. The oath has a bad camber that keeps pushing your wheelchair over so hard to navigate. Stones are big and can stop your wheelchair.nnShame because it's a stunning are.nnWalking to the lake is very noisy from the A3 traffic, and I mean noisy. You can use the canal path, it's not an easy path
