Had a big family lunch here. Such friendly service! Great menu to suit everyone - young and old. I had the lemon sole. It was served with lots of vegetables and chips. Just gorgeous. Great place for a family mealService: 5/5
Great little spot just over the bridge from the town centre. Great service, large portions, good tasty food and quality drinks. We could even use our Treasure Wexford Vouchers from our Hotel to put towards our meal. Highly recommend, food was lovely.
This was once the best hotel in Wexford Town. Unfortunately, the last few years have seen a regrettable drop in standards. Specifically, the food quality and the decor. On my last two occasions in the hotel, the food was very poor. Last Sunday 16th October, I ordered a Thai Fish curry and it was only after the second bite that I realised I had been served chicken being a curry the food was covered in a sauce and I only discovered the error when I took a second mouthful They changed the dish without any problem and while it was tasty, the presentation was akin to a takeaway curry and not a dish that was priced, I think, at €26! The toilets are very grimy and in dire need of a makeover. Indeed, the Gents is far too small for a hotel of this size and there was a hole in the back of the stall door where there had once been a coat hook. On the plus side, the front of house staff are extremely nice and I must pay particular praise to Catriona who was helpful and cheerful at all times despite others at my table finding issue with the food. Also, the manager who attended to my wife's complaint about undercooked food could not have been more sympathetic or helpful. In terms of two bad experiences in a year, I must assume that the kitchen staff are either incompetent or poorly trained. Where is the head chef in all of this or do they even have one? No self-respecting chef would allow the type of food we were served to be brought to the table. This needs addressing urgently or there will be a mass exodus from the Riverbank to the many local eateries available to the people of Wexford. If I were this hotel's owners I would be paying urgent attention to the food and decor issues before it is too late.
Lovely food on Saturday for a family get together in the bar and the waitress was top class with orders, serving tables and getting all orders correct for the 5 families involved. Highly recommend!!Service: 5/5

My Da fell ill while visiting family in Wexford, and was taken to the hospital. I came down from Monaghan to see him and decided very last minute, I’d stay over. Booked the riverbank house with no hassle whatsoever. I was the last available room which means they were fully booked, a good sign! I arrived and was greeted by a lovely woman who was so unbelievably nice and helpful, without being overbearing. Check in was a breeze, maybe 1 minute. Hotel was charming, situated in a perfect spot, 5 mins from the town Center. The room itself was old school, maybe a bit dated, but for the price was actually amazing. Huge big open space, massive sturdy comfortable bed, and all the amenities you would expect like coffee, tv, etc. The hotel is listed as a three star, however there are elements here of a standard much higher than that. The price is fantastic, the staff are so so genuinely warm and friendly, and the hotel has everything you need from a comfy bed, to a secure car park. My room was facing the bin area and my immediate thought was it would be loud. It was very quiet, even when the bar/restaurant closed, I had my windows open and you could tell the staff were taking care not to make noise. It’s not the ritz, and may not have 5 stars, but I’ve had a great relaxed and comfortable stay here at an excellent price and I can’t say the same of a lot of much higher rated hotels I’ve stayed at. Also, I’d ESPECIALLY recommend for a long stay, as the rooms are huge and comfortable. Feels more like an apartment than a room. It’s a 5 star from me anyways
Big improvement. Staff were excellent. Returned menu great improvement. Staff were under pressure but courteous, The quality and taste of the food amazed. Go very hungry and be satisfiedService: 4/5

We have been coming here on and off for over 40 years. My wife bought me my 1st Guinness here all those years ago. Dinner today was just superb. Simple fish but so well cooked, possibly the best I've tasted for a long time. I'm pleased to say that we have never been disappointed, excellent friendly service, welcoming atmosphere and superb food. As good now as it ever was. Well done.
