disappointing. You enter the restaurant and it seems like it will be a nice Italian restaurant, wrong. We got seated in a VERY tight corner and I was greeted by dust and cobwebs near the corner. We then ordered our food and for the price we paid this was NOT worth it at all, £60!!. I ordered a Margherita pizza and was given by what seemed an oven pizza. The pizza had NO taste at all and I felt as if I was eating bread and ketchup.. not a great combination. You can’t call a restaurant Italian if you serve customers pizza that was pretty thick and undercooked. Disgusting in my opinion. I also ordered some chips and got given a bowl of really weird tasting potatoes. As a person who loves chips these we repulsing. So bad I didn’t touch them. Despite all this, the staff were nice so not all hope is lost. Don’t recommend
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sorriso , and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The ambiance is warm and inviting, perfectly capturing the essence of a traditional Italian eatery. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home.Food: 5/5
Great, proper Italian food, comprehensive menu and efficient, friendly staff. We were a party of six, including two young children 5 and 2, and they couldn't do enough for us. They were happy to tweak the children's pizza toppings to accommodate lactose intolerance. This was our second visit, and we'll definitely be returning!Food: 5/5
Absolutely disgusting, from outside the restaurant looks like a lovely place to eat, wrong! Chef needs to be replaced by someone, who can cook. Pizza we ordered was paled, uncooked and hardly have any toppings. Tasteless pizza looks and tastes like “Ristorante frozen pizza” - do not waste your money on! Chucky chips???…uncooked with weird after taste- had 3chips and made me sickAgain do not waste your money. Dining in this restaurant is unpleasant, interior is very dated and dirty stained looking restaurant. Don’t want to imagine, in what state is their kitchen?? My recommendation: invest into interior, make it clean and pleasant to dine in but mainly!!… change your chef, find someone who can cook!!!
Today, we went for a walk in Lichfield and ordered a pizza. I paid £15.50 for the "Italian" La Diavola pizza. The pizza covered only 60% of the plate, making it look like either the plate was too large or the pizza was too small. The crust was white and undercooked. It seemed like the dough hadn't gone through any fermentation, and it felt like I was eating 20 grams of yeast per slice. This had nothing to do with authentic Italian pizza; in terms of quality, I'd compare it to a frozen pizza from Lidl. The staff were friendly, but despite the place not being very busy, they managed to add extra items to our bill that we didn't order. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience. I do not recommend this place.
We visited yesterday as a treat for our wedding anniversary and can't praise this restaurant enough, staff were first class and the food was excellent. We will definitely be going back. Superb restaurant.Food: 5/5
The waiters were very pleasant and helpful indeed and charmed my companions with their gentle humour. The meal was pleasant enough; fresh and tasty and readily adapted the pasta to the type I wanted. For a weekday meal with friends , a good place . For an extra special meal out it probably isn't the venue. I imagine I will return here.
Very mixed review for this place. Outside seating area and building itself was very small. Entered into a very bustling and loud resturant, the tables were packed in very closely together, interior decor wasnt exactly eye catching or stylish, looked like someone's living room. Thankfully we had booked a table because they were turning alot of people away, we were seated on a table right next to the door/where people wait to be seated so there was always someone right next to our table. Food orders were taken by what seemed to be the very rushed manager. Recieved our starters quickly, but all 4 of us thought that they were cold and not exactly as described on the menu, however no waiter came over to ask if everything was ok. Our table was arranged so close to the bar that waiters/waitresses were edging around my chair to get to other tables which started to get very annoying that i kept getting bashed being 9 months pregnant. There seemed to be a surplus of staff that kept coming close to our table to observe the tables on the other side of the resturant, and yet still throughout starter, main and dessert no one bothered to ask if everything was ok. I dont think for the price of the food the service was worth it, yes it was well presented but overall flavour wouldn't be something that i returned for.
We went here for a rare night out as we managed to get a babysitter - woo! We did pre-book and glad we did as people were being turned away when we arrived due to being fully booked. We sat in the window seat and ordered a platter to share that had squid, king prawns, olives, ham, mozzarella, tomatoes and roasted vegetablesI think that was everything! The squid was cooked perfectly and everything else was really tasty! For mains we both went for risottos. A “p&c” risotto and a porcini risotto. The porcini risotto was absolutely gorgeous and my wife was very impressed with hers. For desserts we both went for a trio of ice cream - the lemon ice cream was very strong and I can imagine it might be a bit overpowering for some people, I however thought it was great. The hazelnut ice cream was lovely too. Overall the food was flawless and the servers were very polite. If I was being really picky I would say that they didn’t ask us for drink refills enough but on the other hand it was a Saturday night and the place was rammed so at the end of the day they’ve only got so many pairs of hands. I can’t wait to go back and will have to try and make sure that babysitter can turn up regularly!
Without doubt the finest Italian restaurant in the UK. You will not find better quality food anywhere. Yes you can pay more and yes you can pay less, but the quality at Sorriso makes it the very best value for money. The food is high quality and cooked by a genius chef named Luca. The service is friendly, attentive and the staff enjoy their work so much that humour forms part of the dining experience. Front of house is managed by Roberto and Angelo who ensure you have a great time and you have a big smile on your face. Make sure you go and tell then Ian and Tracey sent you.
