I came here the week it re-opened & ordered from the festive menu, which was yum. So I decided to come back again, this time with my son. The service was great, salad bar had plenty of salad but, they didn't have mine or my sons, first choice of starters, apparently all sold out. So I ordered tomato soup. It was not tomato soup, it was a bowl of cream with a thick dollop of tomato paste sitting in the middle. The server actually said to me when she bought it over "I think they were a little heavy handed with the cream", well that's an understatement. Anyway, she said that if I didn't like it, she would take it away & get me another one. However, as she was very busy, by the time she returned, some 10 minutes or so later, our main course was ready to be served. So she took the uneaten bowl of cream away & said it would be removed from my bill. I just cannot understand how a chef can send out a bowl of cream instead of a bowl of tomato soup with a drizzle of cream. Did he/she not stop & think that most people do not like that amount of cream with their soup. Other than this hiccup, the rest of the food was lovely & I cannot fault the staff, they're always very friendly. Parking: I'm disabled & have a blue badge for my car. To my knowledge, they is only 1 disabled space available. On the day I attended, it was very busy & the car park was full. I ended up parking further up the road. I think that maybe they could possible add an extra disable /parent & child space as the spaces are very narrow, which makes it difficult for anyone putting a child in a car seat or a disabled person needing to open their door fully wide, would struggle in the very small spaces available.
Was given a gift card at Christmas to have a meal with the boyfriend and am glad we chose to eat here we was welcomed and seated quickly . Both laddies who served us was very polite and was very helpful with the questions that was asked . Food is reasonably priced and the portion sizes are good ! Good selection at the unlimited salad bar and bread rolls .
Had a meal steak , only 2 onion rings bit stingey.. very very nice steak rump was nice. Very good service young white slim girl was very very good. Will definitely be back again.
Sigh… Harvester just continues to spit in the face of its customers by serving overpriced bad food. Starter was chicken goujons. Where I got 4 of the skinniest bits of chicken and my partner only got 3 pieces. Partners main was “the dirty one”, burger. Overcooked patty smothered in sauce with a tasteless hash brown hidden inside. She wanted the cod and chips but wasn’t told until ordering that there was no cod. My main was the ultimate combo. The only passable thing on my plate was the ribs. The chicken was small and bland. The wings were coated in the same bbq sauce from the bottle at every table, pulled pork was mush, pork belly was a grilled blob of fat that didn’t melt like butter in your mouth. The chips are atrocious. The only word I can associate with them is dead. Tasteless and quite a few empty sleeping bags no potato inside. My daughter had chicken goujons and chips. She ate the goujons and a quarter of her ice cream dessert. Total bill £70.05. I am aware that the Harvester is a chain and that many of the stores will be supplied by the same suppliers but the food just isn’t good enough. I don’t even think the majority of the issue is with the cooking of the food, it’s the food itself. It’s just bad.
We were greeted at the door by a less-than-pleasant host which set a bad precedent. However, our server Alison, was excellent! She was very caring and kind, stopping in to ask how our food is. The food was great for a fair price. Will be back again for sure!
First visit since the refurb and rather pleased with the new modern look. We had a drink at the bar and proceeded to check in for 7 pm reservation and seated promptly. Our waitress took our order timely where the food was served nice and hot. I must say that we thought that the food was good value served in a nice environment. All in all we enjoyed the evening and will definitely be back.
I ordered a medium rare rump steak but it was a little overcooked. Food for my companions were good except the chicken which tasted differently from what she had it before. Salad was good and it was refilled as frequently as one would expect. I think this might be the main reasons that it is to make us feel Harvester at home. Our server was efficient but he needed some polish-up on courtesy. Kid-friendliness: The kid's meal was of good value. Our visit was complimented Christmas story-telling and a gift for the kid.
What a lovely pleasant place to enjoy an afternoon out with your family for dinner. A big friendly welcome as you come in the door and attentive staff. Food excellent and did not have to wait to long for meal. Loved the fact that being lactose intolerant was not an issue and wqs able to enjoy a lovely ice cream dessert. Well done to the brilliant staff I shall be back Parking: For such a wonderful restaurant the parking is too limited Dietary restrictions: Good alternative option.
A very lovely meal for birthdays of my daughter and husband. The food was excellent, we had skewers which were cooked to perfection. The staff lit the cake and sang Happy Birthday too which was lovely touch. Such kind and friendly staff. We will go again .... Soooooon
Was able to quickly make a reservation via phone. Quickly received at the entrance. Quickly served and attended to by the hostess, Shannon who had a great disposition and attitude throughout and never kept us waiting. Even other tables noted the same of Shannon. The service through Shannon was the high point if our stay. Parking: Easy to find a spot to park.
