Just used Ripon Police website (Saturday morning) for their contact details.    The telephone number listed is no longer in use.   Called 101 as suggested.   North Yorkshire Police responded.   I asked for Ripon Police but was told the station is unmanned at weekends.   The operator helpfully suggested I call Ripon Council  with my query, saying that a duty officer would be available.   No weekend number listed on Ripon City Council website.   Fortunately my problem was urgent but did not constitute an emergency but I would strongly recommend a critical look at the system.   Surely a city should have easily contactable duty personnel for exactly this sort of situation.

Whent to inform them of a old lady who was going to give me money when I knocked on her door to ask the resident if they had seen my son living nextdoor. Was concerned that she wanted to give me money and I had absolutely no idea who she was, or why she was prepared to give money to a complete stranger, however she did say she had been told someone would be calling for the money. Informed the desk clerk and asked them to visit to make sure things were ok with her. called back again to check that someone had visited her. I don't really think these officers take care in the community seriously.

Old run down basic you don't really want to go there to report anything but you have to sometimes. It's only staffed part time too
