Stunning not really a lot more can be said but I will. Beautiful cathedral that had a beautiful calm and warm atmosphere. The entry is free but if you wish to take photos you need to pay £3 for a permit, you stand in awe and just wonder how such a structure could have been built. You are able to gain access to the crypt but not recommended for those who are claustrophobic. A section of the museum is dedicated to member of the armed forces who have fallen in conflict .
Over the cathedral is the high point of visiting Ripon, we were not overly impressed by the town however the Cathedral is excellent. We have visited a vast number of cathedrals in the UK and Europe and I must say this stands out as one which is well worth a visit, and unlike many is free to enter. Highly recommend
Lovely Cathedral, it is beautiful outside and in. I thought it was very different to any other Cathedral I have visited, well worth a visit. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Free to visit too.
Not the largest of cathedrals but quite old, parts of the crypt date to AD 675 ish. Stunning work considering the tools available at the times of construction. Staff were friendly and helpful. Entry is free.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
I read mixed reviews, but my experience here was great. Staff were kind and attentive and accommodated me and my dog on a walk-in basis. It was busy, but I didn't wait long for my BLT, which was amazing - served with salad and chips - too much for me to eat!
Excellent cathedral, not dog friendly inside, so took turns to look. But staff very friendly. No cost but can put a donation in the box. Loved looking underground. Shame the town has suffered like so many looking very tired.
Beautiful cathedral. Sunday service was taking place Beautiful choir singing and a very fine organ playing. Free to enter.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Magnificent building, timeless & well kept. Friendly staff & a little gift shop, they also had a rehearsal on which was nice to sit and take a moment to listen.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
A beautiful Cathedral, better than York Minster in my opinion. The Wilfred Crypt dates back to 672AD. That over 1,350 years old!! You'll need to look for the rabbit going down the hole in the choir seating that inspired Lewis Carol!!
Lovely cathedral. Crept passageway open, spooky little walk. Small treasury and library upstairs to look at. The organ here is impressive, and so is the stain glassed windows. Free entry donations welcome Gift shop Candles for donations to make your prayers.
