Enjoyed playing here and found it a proper test. Tee boxes and greens a bit ropey but it didn’t spoil the round and I don’t want to be too critical because I don’t know what challenges the green keepers have to wrestle. Excellent value for money, good parking, friendly staff and a nice bar.
Terrible golf club and course. When i am paying a price of £100 total for a year and 2 months i expect my experience to be pleasant with a maintained course. When first stepping on to the course, i was met with scuffed tees and beer bottles scattered everywhere, not a great start. As you progress it gets worse by the hole, going from a small section of the fairway being ‘shut’ to on the third fairway practically the whole thing being sectioned off for ‘poor quality’ which i find to be an understatement as the images attached show. As i continued bearing in mind this was in late January, with the weather being fine i found bunkers still frozen solid, 6 days after the colder temperatures alongside the greens being practically unusable, obviously very rarely being maintained.nAs a beginner i was happy for there to be a golf course right round the corner and was excited to be able to use it whenever i could, but as for the complete joke of a course it turned out to be, i would not recommend this to anyone, even beginners wanting to learn how to play. Alongside all of this, they somehow can call a wooden shack, with no tees on the grass mats, a driving range that doesn’t even tell you the distance you are hitting your balls due to broken signs that always fall down, restricting people of knowing how well they are truly hitting the ball. Additionally when sending in a complaint, we were given what we thought to be quite a rude response from one of the employees or owners effectively telling us that their course was one of the ‘more well maintained courses within the area’ which we all know is completely false as there are many other courses within a 40 minute drive radius that would be appalled if they found one of their fairways of bunkers to be in the same state, with bottles and cans everywhere too.nAnd as for another repeat purchase for a membership, that wont happen again unless pigs fly.
It is an interesting course that tests your accuracy off the tee. Narrow fairways lined with well established trees. Several water hazards to get into your head. Greens and bunkers need improvement, but it is what it is! We'll be back.
Great value for money ,some testing holes ,considering the long dry spell fairways and greens in good condition,£22.50 for 18 ,purchase a course map for £2.50 as hardly anyone about and easy to go wrong.
Felt this could be a very good course with a bit of tlc. It's well laid out with streams and ponds making for some interesting holes.nOn the downside the bunkers were full of grass and Weeds, they also still had rakes in which is against covid recommendations. But my biggest disappointment was the fact that on a lot of the tees there was empty cans, bottles and plastic shot glasses strewn about.
