I recently visited Harlow Carr, and it was a fantastic experience! The gardens are beautifully maintained, showcasing a diverse range of plants and flowers that change with the seasons. The walking paths are well laid out, making it easy to explore the various themed areas, including the stunning wildflower garden and the tranquil woodland. The café offers delicious refreshments, perfect for a break after wandering around. Overall, Harlow Carr is a must-visit for anyone who loves nature and gardening. Highly recommended!
Had a lovely visit on a busy half term day. It was Halloween and lots of children were in fancy dress, it was a lovely atmosphere The gardens still looked great, even though it was the end of October Two of the food outlets are run by Betty's. We used the kiosk and ate outdoors and the food was amazing, delicious bread, soup and sandwiches Playground: There are two nice playgrounds Restrooms: There are plenty of toilets
So beautiful all the year round especially in Spring and Autumn. Exceptionally looked after by very happy gardeners. Be ready to have your breath taken by the sheer brilliance of the variety of colours shapes and techniques. We've had 3 visits this year already. Read about the forthcoming RHS Glow in the 4 weeks before Christmas, it's a magical evening walk.
Beautifully maintained gardens and lots to see !! Well laid out with loads of different paths to follow and explore. Betty's tea shop at the main complex, as well as a Betty's take away further in the site, and the Harrogate arms for lunch and tea / coffee. Also a garden centre / shop to buy plants and souvenirs. Children's play areas with a tree house, swings, climbing frames.. plenty of things to spend the day !!
We missed the bus and decided to walk to the gardens from Harrogate. What a blessing in disguise! You walk for 40 mins through a park and a woodland to get there, and then the entrance fee was a few pounds cheaper because we didn't have a car. The gardens are beautifully designed. We spent a really happy few hours looking around and managed a coffee and cake at Betty's. I had the famous fat rascal. There's lots here to keep you interested, a bird hide, a kitchen garden, alpine greenhouse, large pond, play area, arboretum and more. Well worth the money Picnic area: There are loads of places to sit and eat, some sheltered, some open
My first visit at Harlow Carr. Beautifull autumn colours, especially when the sun is shining. Gardens are well kept nice staff at the entrance. Great shop as you exit. Fantastic day.
Just visited for the first time in mid September. Loving all the colours - yes there's lots. Steep entry fee if not a member. However RHS members are free with +1 so I'm very happy. Quite a large area to walk around and absolutely loved the bird hide.
A beautiful afternoon spent wandering around this beautifully kept garden! So much to see and plenty of seats to stop and gaze!! The flowers are blooming so magnificently!! We have just joined as members, so can’t wait to come back and explore the garden through each changing season!! Restrooms: Toilets at the entrance, inside Betty’s, and in the new Harrogate Arms cafe Dog-friendliness: No dogs allowed
Such a lovely place for a walk out. The whole area is really well thought out and easy to navigate around although if you need a map there's plenty available. There are even a couple of play parks for kids with climbing apparatus and swings. Definitely with the admission charge if you like flowers and a day out. Playground: There are two play parks with climbing apparatus and swings as well as musical instruments in them.
Large gardens with beautiful flowers and planting, the lawns are maintained and there is a map to guide you round the gardens with various different features and points of interest. The terraces are in full bloom with an array of colours that look fabulous. There is a great gift shop sellling all kinds of homeware, gifts, food and drink. We visited the new cafe the Harrogate arms for coffee with plenty outdoors seating although feel the terrace from Betty's tearooms has a slight better view over the gardens. Overall a fab day out in the gardens with good weather.
