Unbelievably good fish-based tasting menu. Get a window seat if you can - the view over the sea is fantastic. The highlight for me was the sea bass with ricotta dumplings. Never something you'd think to put together and like experiencing an entirely new flavour profile. The chocolate pudding was mind-blowingly good.
Delicious food in a beautiful and relaxed setting. The restaurant has lovely views over the water , and it’s a very relaxed atmosphere. Everything was wonderfully presented , and was so fresh and tasty. The wine list had some excellent local and unusual options. It was well worth the visit.
We were taken there as a surprise treat by our three 'children's. And what a treat. It was sublime. Admittedly one of them suggested after the first course that we might need a bowl of cereal when we got home, but the courses got slightly larger and more delicious as we progressed through the meal and the first course was superb. The Uruguayan red dessert wine polished off a wonderful evening.
A lovely meal, lots of flavour and a lovely wine recommendation too. Highly recommend a trip to Outlaws New Road Dietary restrictions: Gluten-Free bread made especially for us
Had an exceptional dinner here, everything was super fresh and exquisite. The restaurant overlooks the sea and has a calming and beautiful view. Highly recommended
Fantastic service, you can really see there’s a relaxed control to all sides of the restaurant. The food was a really beautiful experience and it all tied nicely together. Becky our server was wonderful and spoke very highly of her work which is nice to hear it’s not just good food but a good place to work. Thankyou very much to the whole team it was quite an emotional experience for us as we just love food and don’t do this sort of thing often
My husband and I were treated to the tasting menu by a family member. It had been a dream of mine to visit one of Nathan’s restaurants for a while. The experience was nothing short of perfect, the view from the restaurant is simply stunning. We were lucky to have the most popular table, but I honestly don’t think anyone would be disappointed by the view, no matter where you sit. I think it’s natural to feel anxious in a Michelin restaurant if it’s not something you do often, however Anna and Damon couldn’t have made us feel more relaxed. It was great chatting to them both and it felt like they were interested in us as people - it wasn’t a transactional service at all. The food is simply outstanding, I could attempt to comment on every course but I won’t, because it doesn’t need any further explanation. If you’re questioning whether to go here, stop right now and just book a table. It’ll be one of the best things you ever do in your lifetime. Parking: Paid parking
The Michelin guide book described it as "potentially the best fish restaurant in England". It is quite a statement, but after having enjoyed the lunch a la carte menu there, I can only concur. Simple, but absolutely delicious. And the South African wine was amazing as well. Great!Recommended dishesCatch of the Day
The only Michelin starred restaurant in this trip, so I had high hope for this. The starter was raw mackerel. Normally I stay away from mackerel sashimi as they spoil and becomes fishy quickly. But the mackerel I had was fresh, buttery and the mirin based dressing was simple but delicious. The second course was soused red mullet which was grilled but still juicy inside. Then we had the lobster and asparagus salad. The fish looked simple but the ingredients were fresh. The asparagus was cooked just right, and I noticed there were thin slices of raw asparagus too which add contrast to the different textures in the dish. As I am lactose intolerant, I asked for lactose free alternatives to the set menu, while my partner had the original menu. For the main course we had John Dory. I had a sweet wild mushroom based sauce while my partner had a clotted cream based sauce. Both of us liked the mushroom based sauce more! The finely chopped salami and vegetables were delightful to have with the meaty, flavoursome fish. In the final course, I had strawberry meringue while my partner had a basque cheese cake. I am probably biased when I say I like the meringue dessert more as I don’t like cheese. I think both desserts were well presented and were well balanced. It was a very enjoyable lunch overlooking a fantastic sea view. Whether it justify the price the asked for, I think for the environment and the quality of food, it’s worth it.
Giving 5* as I understand the detriment lower ratings can have on a business. Want to leave some feedback nonetheless, came here over Easter, Food was good but to be honest I wasn’t massively impressed for what you’re paying. I’d say the fish was a bit too salty, bit too buttery- maybe a bit more care into ratios & everything would have been better. Service was ok, and surprising considering the tip option is entirely variable. Would love to see more of a champagne selection aside from Camel Valley Negroni was great!
