Stayed the night at Banchory Lodge after a long hike. The front desk clerk graciously accepted our last minute booking and also upgraded us to a nicer room! The room was large, clean, and had a lovely view of the river. We also had the most delicious supper. My partner has lamb and I had the vegetable fried rice. Both of us had a pint of beer. Honestly, that was the best veggie fried rice I’ve ever had. The spices were just right. After supper, we explored the property. It felt so luxurious, like being at an idyllic country lodge really. I wish we had more than one night here!
Had lunch there on Sunday afternoon and the food was fantastic and well presented. The service was first class. Well worth the trip to a beautiful hotel by the river. We will be back.
A truly delightful hotel. We had a fabulous room overlooking the river and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The dinner was good although the starter was rather underwhelming but the mains and desserts were good. The breakfast was good but after the dinner couldn't manage the full Scottie cooked breakfast offering!Rooms: 5/5
A fantastic place at the banks of River Dee. I appreciated the warm welcome and quick check in. The whole house is decorated with lovely details and feels friendly and cozy. My room was comfy, lovely bed and thick curtains. A kettle and a broad selection of tea, chocolate, coffee were highly accepted. The terrace is perfect to relax and hang out as are the benches at the river. The only thing I didn't like was the small and quite idealess selection of vegetarian meals at dinnertime. But this could be easily changed.
Stopped in here for an evening meal. Food was first class, staff were super helpful and the service was quick. We had our dog with us and we felt very welcome at the Banchory Lodge Hotel, 5 stars.Service: 5/5
Myself and family had an awful experience at Banchory lodge last Saturday afternoon, we arrived and its was raining so we were told we could sit in the covered outside area by the restaurant manager, after ordering drinks and food, we were then asked to move in the middle of our meal, because the table we were on apparently had been pre booked, we were then told very rudely to go and sit on a high table by the restaurant manager, I explained that I had just had a Major operation so that would be to uncomfortable for me, he proceeded to very rude to us, we then had to sit outside in the rain under an umbrella to finish our meal! Very disappointing food, very rude restaurant manger and also when I complained to the general manager he was aggressive and rude to me! Shocking behaviour as I had travelled 600 miles the previous day to visit my daughter who I rarely see, visit the hotel as she wanted her wedding there!! I’m absolutely disgusted! Food & drinks: Very disappointing
Beautiful Lodge on the River Dee, one of Izaak Walton’s favorites. I was placed in the Annex which was not necessarily what I expected however it was still a lovely room that got serviced during my stay. Dinner in the lodge both nights and food was very good. We are looking to rebook for next year.Rooms: 5/5
My husband and I came across this hotel as part of a larger group last year and were impressed with the service and passion of their staff. We are just back from our 3rd stay of this year and it never disappoints.Having read some of the other comments about pricing we are firm believers in paying for quality and consider this hotel to be fantastic value for money.Excellent service from David the restaurant manger and his team.We are already planning our next visit.very highly recommend. Rooms: Beautiful rooms with kettle and assorted tea’s coffee hot chocolate etc an iron, hairdryer and different toiletries.we book a dog friendly room which have a dog bowl and gift bag of dog bisciuts. Walkability: Hotel sits by the river with beautiful views and walkways. Food & drinks: Fantastic food and great cocktails
Relaxed stay in beautiful setting with friendly and efficient staff. Super welcoming to guests with dogs but also clearly has no dog access areas too which is great for everyone. Rooms: Our room had beautiful river views and was super clean with lovely robes, bottled water, and nicely thought out tea/coffee tray etc. There's hotel feels very comfortable and super relaxing with some thoughtful weather aware facilitates such as wet gear drying room and wellies if required to borrow e.g. to walk dog! Staff were also all very friendly and efficient.
This place was our best stay of our trip. I would stay longer next time. Food was wonderful and the view was amazing. Walkability: Very close to shops and restaurants. Noteworthy details: The view was spectacular.
