Recommend walking the trail from Padstow, round the bay, to Rest a While Tea Garden. The sweet and savoury scones were amazing! Lady serving was extremely friendly and funny - would highly recommend especially with the view overlooking Daymer and Polzeath in the distance.
Stumbled across this on our walk. What a GEM! Scones were warm and fresh and the view was breathtaking. Very friendly owner who had biscuits for dogs and kindly refilled our water bottle for us. Would recommend!
A lovely, tiny place with kind and friendly staff. Food was delicious and our dog made very welcome! The menu was quite limited, we had hoped for lunch but quiche was the only real option, otherwise home made scones and cakes were all that was on offer. Views are stunning from this little place, which only has outdoor seating so visit on a dry day Dietary restrictions: Plenty of vegan/gluten free items on the menu!
Views are amazing, such a great find although I don't want too many people to know about it. You need to be prepared for a walk to get there, but well worth it.
Lovely tea Garden at Hawkers Bay . Outdoor seating only. Approach is via foot with steps . No toilet facilities. Great cakes and scones especially the cheese scones
If your not doing the coastal walk then you have to walk down a hill to get to the cafe from the road as there is no parking but worth it as the scenery is lovely not loads of seating but cream tea was scrummy
A perfect little tea garden along a coastal walk with excellent views. If you visit Padstow you really must take this walk and pay a visit to the Rest A While Tea Garden. The best cream tea I've ever tasted with warm scones straight from the oven.
My wife and I had a cream tea here after a long hot walk and it was delicious. The set up is very simple, with a hole in the wall style counter and paper plates and cups. This adds to the charm of the place, and you cannot complain about the excellent scones, local jam and cream, and delicious tea. If you want to enjoy a proper Cornish cream tea with a stunning view of the estuary then this is the place to go. The serving sizes are generous two scones per person and a large cup of tea.
Offered nice quiet respite from the heat and slog whilst hiking the southwest coast path. Nice cream tea in cottage garden, reasonable pricing, lovely freshly baked scones. Would have preferred a pot of tea rather than the paper cup and dunk tea bag approach which was the main downside. Cups, cutlery, plates, cream and jam were in served in disposable containers. 4 for the scones 2 for environmental ethos and sustainability.
Lovely little place for a nice sandwich or scone. Great views from the outside decking. Only outside seating. Wasn’t many seats so may have to wait but food is good enough to wait for. Little bit of a walk from Hawkers Cove but nice scenery on the way. There is parking close by.
