First time visit and the gardens are absolutely stunning. There is seats all around the gardens with beautiful views were you can stop and have something to eat and a cuppa. The paths around the garden are easy to walk on and if you have a pushchair or wheelchair there are plenty of ramps and also it is dog friendly too. The staff are very polite and helpful too. Unfortunately we didn't get chance to go into the hall but will definitely go inside next time.
I loved Renishaw Hall and Gardens. The formal Gardens cost £10 entry, and the house too. The rest is free entry including the courtyard where there are some shops, a café, butchers etc. There is also their local vineyard and one can buy their wines in the lovely little shop..which I haven't done yet. The café is very nice too and the cappuccino delicious, which we had with a divine cream tea. The £10 entry for the garden was so worth it. It is an absolute haven and so magical..the formal gardens are truly beautiful and well maintained. There is also a gorgeous wood, and some lovely walking paths down a hill to a beautiful lake. Obviously it helped that it was a stunning day.. I haven't done the house yet, but I'm sure that's lovely too. I've been a few times already and look forward to my return. It is open daily from 9am on a Wednesday til Sunday 16h30, and or Bank holiday Mondays, unless otherwise specified. Restrooms: The restrooms are very clean and in a lovely wooden building, by a picnic area. There are also restrooms next to the café, but I haven't been in them yet. Dog-friendliness: Well-behaved dogs are welcome on a lead Picnic area: There are some wooden picnic table and chairs by some stunning big trees. One can enjoy an ice cream or two, or bring your own picnic. From the picnic area there is a lovely path through some trees to the little vineyard.
Nice gardens and hall to visit, with a small interesting museum attached. If you can also manage to visit the hall itself, it is well worth the extra fee. The cafe and farm shop are both excellent,
Well maintained and full of interest. A nice mix of formal and informal landscaping with tasteful and quirky statues and other items of interest throughout. Two large meres complete the delightful grounds. Plenty for everyone I'd say. And a well stocked cafe to top it all off.
Came here for afternoon tea with friends. Really nice place. We were sat in a different hall which was nice as the afternoon tea is clearly set in a different setting. The staff were lovely, attentive to our tea needs. We stated allergy/preferences and they were very clear on these catering for us. The food was very tasty. Very good for price as well. We were offered bags to take the rest home with that we didn't eat which was nice
We recently visited South Yorkshire from Canada. We had specifically visited Renishaw Hall to have a Sunday Roast. Unfortunately, it was not included in the menu that day and so we did not tarry. But we have very fond memories of our visit to the Hall in May 2017. I say “very fond”. But that description is wholly inadequate. We were touring the grounds and came around a corner to witness a magically breathtaking scene. Bluebells. Bluebells. Bluebells. Carpets of them everywhere! The glen was simply enchanting. We still remember the thrill of seeing them the first time. A wonderful experience!
Renishaw Hall and Gardens was just a delight. We didn't get into the Hall limited days and times but spent hours in the garden and museum. The garden is expansive with formal gardens, lawns, fountains, sculptures, ponds and picnic spots. Well worth a visit. Good cafe and a great place to take a picnic lunch - choice is yours!
Love the place, the pleasure of walking, and the nice activities. Next visit will explore the lakes, vineyard and baby playground... Looking forward to buy a seasonal ticket! Only disappointed with the cafe. Very very bad quality of food - please, take your own, don't spend money there, even on coffee. Trust me, it is a painful experience.
Had booked for a guided tour of the house. Well what can I say it was just amazing. The guide was very knowledgeable and also had a great sense of humour. You only go on the ground floor so very accessible. The rooms you visit are just beautiful it looks and feels like a family home. They had the most spectacular drinks cabinet, so they must have been tipped off that we were visiting.
Lovely gardens and house and courtyard. Wonderful cafe. Gardens are accessible for £10 adult, £5 under 18's. Lovely in the good weather, lots of off path areas so not so favourable in the wet. Cafe, courtyard, parking and museum accessible free of charge.
