Wonderful French restaurant in Camden Rd, really nice selection of rustic dishes in a relaxing atmosphere with lovely staff...
The first time we visited this restaurant was with a group of 4 on 05/02/2022, the food was very good and all members of the party were impressed 8 weeks later me and the fiance decided to visit again As of 25/03/2022 the menu was identical to the first visit, the members of staff were amazing, and very helpful How ever ... we arrived around 19:00 was given time to order drinks etc and was served a starter within reasonable time. By 21:00 still no main meal, despite all the tables around us being severed first Spoke to the owner, he did not seem to care and we felt like we was pushed out of the restaurant We payed for everything we had consumed . The owner is rude : the menu doesn't change : the establishment is cramped Score = 4 out of 10
This restaurant has a very good repetition for food and service , I have eaten there many times. However I would strongly suggest they upgrade their booking system to take online bookings , so their mistake of taking down a number incorrectly is not repeated. Last night I experienced a double booking and plain off hand attitude with complete lack of empathy when the mistake was realised. A 1/2 hearted apology as we had to leave the restaurant and try and find somewhere else to eat. The owner offered nothing as a solution , just the door !!! I will never ever go back there .
We booked a table at the Rendez-Vous after reading their reviews and we we not disappointed. Service was attentive and excellent, complete with a waiter who's mission is clearly to amuse the customers, but in a good way. Food was perfectly cooked and totally delicious. Our bottle of Chablis was superb and reasonably priced. Often a good Chablis is over priced. A totally brilliant evening.
Visited estaurant recently BUT DEFINITELY WONT BE GOING BACK OR RECOMMENDING IT EITHER! At first the restaurant looked lovely from the outside and seemed really well decorated inside too Soon as I sat down my chair was wonky which my partner and I had changed for his and was still wonky, meanwhile while we were doing this the waitress was having her general chat with the table behind my partner, only when myself and my partner had seen us change chairs she then stopped her own conversation with the others to get me a chair which seemed better. Once myself and my partner had sat down we had to move the four glasses from the table to put them on the book shelf next to us which had not been removed and we had found the table was VERY VERY small and cramp, we were looking at the menu for drinks which we had decided the waitress kindly asked my partner what he would like and not me she had just walked off!! and came back with one glass for him and still not asked me, so I made a point to sip some off his and at this point I was ready to order a drink but then again she walked off so I poured myself some wine which I had poured from one off the glasses previously put on the book shelf. I understand too enjoying a meal with background music is lovely as we do this very often, however the music was playing through the speakers in the restaurant was VERY LOUD heavy rock you could almost do karoke!! WE WIll NOT BE GOING BACK TO THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN.. LET ALONE RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE!
I went with friends for a Christmas supper. This was excellent with a good pre ordered choice of dishes. We go regularly and always enjoy our meals, either from the daily specials or a la carte menu. A very friendly place. Highly recommended.
Just had food delivered and it was excellent. Ordering, delivery and service was simple, personable and timely - the lamb and pear croquettes were delicious as were the fabulously flavoured pork medallions. Thank you to Mark and family. I shall certainly be ordering again until I get the opportunity to dine in-person!
The best ever beef steak medallion meal, I literally had to have it twice . Don't let the not so fancy website fool you, the food was amazing, the service was excellent, the atmosphere just right. I would have given this place 6* rating if that existed. Wow !!!!! Definitely will be sure to visit again soon.
We've been going to Rendezvous for a number of years. Food is always brilliant. Great atmosphere. Mark the owner is usually up for some lively banter. If you've never been then I can only highly recommend it - you won't be disappointed.
As part of the Tunbridge Wells Fringe, we attended a murder mystery evening here. The Food was to Die for!! The staff were so friendly, and were to hand with whatever we needed. Very reasonably priced. I was so distracted by the dessert that I forgot there were actors on the room!! Delicious! Thank you.
